Really sharp and ridiculously cheap.
A very good knife for very little money. I like a posh kitchen knife and wondered how this would compare. It compares very well. It looks like a knife you would find in a commercial kitchen and it just works. It’s sharp out of the box and has stayed sharp.

Sharp and comfortable to use
Very sharp and useful knife. Would say this is a good quality. Used it for a few good weeks and never had the need to sharpen it. Easy to use and comfortable handle.

Excellent! Second one I’ve bought.
Fab little knife. Purchased originally for my daughter to use for jointing poultry (great for small incisions and removing breast meat). When I managed to break the original, I had no hesitation in ordering a second one. Love a good sharp knife and find blunt ones far more dangerous (this applies to my kids using them too).

I'm never going back to a normal breadknife again
The space this puts between knuckle and counter really makes a difference. It cuts even the crustiest of bread nice and easily, they've got the serration just right. I'll be buying a few more of these as Christmas gifts.

Excellent knife
I bought it for my daughter as she's an avid bread baker. She loved it. Its sharp, easy to use and very reasonably priced. My son in law used it and liked it so much he bought one too!

Excellent beginner chopper for my daughter who is learning to cook and finds our best knives heavy and a bit intimidating.

This knife cuts bread well, but differently from other knives I've had. It's not like sharp sharp - I can't cut through a sheet of paper, and I'm not scared of it cutting my finger. If I run my finger on the blade it doesn't feel that sharp. I think it's the design, the scallops of the teeth that give it it's power. The first stroke it kind of skids a little unlike a knife with pointy serrations. But, wait for the second stroke, and it slices the loaf like butter. There are hardly any crumbs produced. I can cut a super thin slice with this thing. I love the 10" - the knife is always in contact with the bread. I was initially going to buy a more expensive Japanese bread knife but the reviews on this one were so good (and price) that I thought why not. And now I realize, all I need is this Mercer Millennia.

Sharp and simple, with an easy to grip handle. This is obviously not a fancy expensive knife, but compared with most supermarket knives it cuts better, is lighter weight, and easier to hold. It has no bolster (no bar of thicker steel near the handle); this makes the knife easier to sharpen, and in my opinion easier to use too, but if you like to have a bolster then this might not be your knife. The blade is thick enough for good strength, but not so thick that it gets in the way. (Many of the supermarket knives are so thick and heavy that slicing a carrot is like splitting wood!) If you are a specialized highly-skilled cook, you'll probably want three or four different knives that are all better than this one. But if you belong to the other 95% of people, like I do, then this knife does the job right for not too much money.

The utility knife is as sharp and attractive (mauve handle) as the chef’s knives.
