I'll start out by saying that somebody else wrote a review with only 1 star, but they clearly really like the product, so they surely meant to give it 5 stars - what a shame, since they are dragging down the rating for this excellent product and a superb seller.Now that that is out of the way, on to my experience --I've been using these lamps in my UV sterilizer for my catchment water system, and I'm always impressed with how well they work, and their lifespan. My water always tests "bacteria and parasite free" (far better than the local municipal water supply) - so good, in fact, that it is my sole source of drinking water also. For people who think that they don't need to sterilize their water since they only drink bottled water, well, think about how water gets in your mouth, ears, and even your eyes when you take a shower. And when you cook, rinse vegetables and fruit, and wash dishes with tap water, that is a potential source of contamination and disease as well. I have neighbors who use chlorine in their tanks, but that's an expensive waste of money - far too much bleach is needed for results; anytime it rains, new "unsterilized" water is added into the system; chlorine within the system dissipates within about 24 hours, requiring daily additions of large quantities of additional bleach (and of course, who does that); AND - WHO WANTS TO DRINK BLEACH, AND BATHE AND WASH DISHES IN BLEACH?! Far better to let the UV sterilizer continuously supply perfect, bleach-free water from every tap in the house for literally just pennies a day. As for lifespan, I've had my sterilizer system (a vital element that completes my full system of sediment screening and pre-filters) for over 5-1/2 years, and I'm only on my second lamp (I'm thinking it may burn out soon - this new lamp will be my third), so I am getting a lot more than the rated 10,000 hours/417 days life from my lamps.The seller is great, too - I received the lamps (in Hawaii) within days of placing the order - much earlier than the estimated arrival date, so I would have to say "kudos" to the seller for shipping so quickly - important because many people who purchase the lamps are doing so because an original lamp has finally gone to light-bulb heaven. Packaging was very good - bubble wrap within tubes within more packing within boxing, so well able to handle the impacts of clumsy/careless couriers.FIVE STARS FOR EVERY ASPECT OF THE PURCHASE

Bought these for VIQUA S5Q-PA 6 Gallon Per Minute Whole-House Water Sterilizer a year ago. Opened today and surprise, not even close to correct bulb, too short and wrong connector.
