The Beginner Guitarist Playbook Paperback – 26 April 2023

As a beginner of 4 months, this is literally the best learning book I have read to do date on the subject. I've had the book just over 24 hours and have only yet read up to page 23 and even at this stage so much of what I thought of as the 'mystique' has already been explained ... it really does cut across all the jargon and simplifies so many things by breaking everything down into logical, straightforward, easy to remember and grasp steps. This book will definitely now become the 'manual' which compliments my daily learning/practice routine.I can honestly say it is by far the best (most practical) learning material I have purchased since staring my guitar learning journey (that's not to say I'm not happy with the others..I am... but this by far simplifies/explains for the beginner, the best).Thank you

Excellent book. I'm very new to playing the guitar and this clearly gives many ideas and concepts to playing and making complex fingering and fretting simple and easy to understand. Thank you, and I'm looking forward to working my way through the book.

As a beginner playing the guitar I am finding this book extremely useful, introducing chord shapes and for advice playing and changing chords. There are also many other tips for playing and understanding music.I recommend for beginners.

Great starter manual, especially for those flitting through YouTube and being bamboozled by guitar science. Simple language, fascinating tricks and explanations. Good value for money

I received my order yesterday and read through the materials. All I can say is I've been playing guitar for longer than I care to admit and some of the shortcuts in this book are amazing. I can't believe I have been overlooking this stuff for such a long time. The book is well laid out and the way things are explained is not only unique, but also very easy to understand. I have already started substituting major and minor triads on the first string set for some of the chords in my playing and I'm only on day one. Turns out it's all about shapes and these are really easy to remember. I love this book and highly recommend it to anyone that wants to cut straight through all the confusing crap.

The title of this review is 'First Impressions', and that's exactly what it will be - a more in-depth review will follow in due course.As everybody knows, there are thousands of books on learning guitar out there, so what makes this one any different from all the rest?The answer is that this has been kept simple.It also is written in a larger than expected font, which can only be a good thing.It has simple diagrams in glorious technicolor, with fingers coloured in matching colours so you know what goes where.The explanations are also simple, logical and easy to follow. Thus far.So why only 4 stars?Here's why - there are loads of QR codes scattered throughout the pages, that will take you to different clips, sites etc.This may be fair enough, and maybe it's just me, but why on earth aren't there links (www. etc) that you can use on a proper computer written alongside these codes? It wouldn't have been difficult and would have made all the difference to me.I mean, do people really want to look at possibly important details on a smudged, possibly cracked, 6" screen when there is a 14" (Laptop) or 24" (Desktop) alternative?I don't understand it.Don't get me wrong, it still looks like a very promising book, and it may be possible to copy the addresses from the QR codes unto a 'proper' screen.As I said, 4 stars at present and a lengthier review to follow.

This is a brilliant and invaluable book. It covers in detail and with excellent simplicity how to create loads of chords. Den always explains things so easily and everything makes sense. It's a wonderful book for any level of guitarist to own. Highly recommend this book. Book arrived on time and in excellent condition.

I bought this book due to having a guitar for years and just not getting the motivation to take on learning how to play it. This book is really simple to understand and follow, I would really recommend it to a complete novice.
