Seeed Minichord Synthesizer
Enabled my daughter’s minichord to properly work with GarageBand app. You will need to also buy a 1/4in to 1/8in adapter to use Aux cord from minichord to iRig then to iPad/iPhone. Worth the money and sounds great, no noticeable latency issues.

Does what it should, easy to set up, can be challenging to manage,
I got this thing to take with us on travel dates so I could go over music, last minute changes, etc., in my room. I paired it with an iPad Pro, and it works great - plenty of volume, interface was easy to set up, has the phones jack and a vol control on one side and an instrument vol on the other, so you can easily blend what you're playing in with what you're listening to. I didn't have any problems running AmpliTube with it, and pulling up YouTube and/or my setlist and notes, etc all at the same time. Very productive for those last minute fill-in gigs, etc. The only downsides are that this thing is *light* - it weighs next to nothing and once you plug an instrument cable into it, you'll be pulling it all over the place. there's a clip of some sort on the back of it, and I think it's intended for you to put it on your belt, etc., but you won't be doing that because the cable that connects it to the IOS device is only ~18" or so. If you're going to connect this to your iPhone, then put your phone in your pocket, clip this thing on your belt, and then connect your guitar or bass (or whatever) to it with a short cable, you're golden (until you nee to pull your iPhone out and change tracks). If you're setting up to run a setlist down in your room, or just work on stuff, you'll want to put a brick or something on top of your cable to keep from dragging this thing around. Still, it's a huge win - I'm very happy with it, and I use it all the time. Not digging the brick I'm carrying around in my gig bag now, but that's life.

Great tool!
I haven’t played guitar seriously in a long time. One of the main reasons is when I sit down to play I legitimately only have 15 to 30 minutes to play because of my busy lifestyle. If I have to tinker around with amp settings or locating a good guitar tab, that eats into most of my practice time. Having this tool allows me to get the exact sound coupled with using Ultimate Guitars pro tabs, I am able to sit down plug-in and instantly start playing what I want. This has greatly helped my playing because it keeps me engaged and keeps it fun without being near as stressful as I found it to be in the past. I plug headphones and my guitar into this device and have no issues on latency, sound, quality, etc. I would recommend this to any beginner, novice, gigger, whoever plays this is a great tool.

It sounds amazing!
I wanted to try this interface for a while now and finally got my hands on one a couple of weeks ago. I've been trying it out ever since and honestly I really like it. It does sound just like a regular amp. I also bought the Dimebag Darrel presets on the shop and it sounds just like it. It's small and pretty simple to use. Technically just buy AmpliTube and plug it onto your device with the cables it came with and there you go. I love that it's also compatible with windows. BUT, that's where I found some issues. It works great for ISO devices and pretty much anything Apple-related. But when it comes to Windows it lacks a lot. Every time I found myself trying to use it on my PC it kept on messing with my audio. It disables all my other audio devices and it has a lot of static noise when plugged. Which is strange cause this doesn't happen on Apple devices though, so if you are getting it for that then really look no further. I would really recommend this for anybody that wants to try out a virtual amp. If you want to invest some more and buy yourself the pedal instead of just the interface I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it way more.

Good, but there are some gripes
Pros: The iRig HD2 provides an inexpensive, easy way to play your guitar through your laptop, tablet or phone, for whatever reason you might want to do that. The interface quality is good, and I’ve experienced no latency issues whatsoever. iRig HD2 comes with the Amplitube 4 amp/effects farm. Cons: The literature says: “Comes with AmpliTube 4 for Mac/PC, Unlocks full version features and gear of AmpliTube for iOS (Free download from App Store),” but that’s a little misleading. You have to really hunt to find out how to unlock the real version of Amplitude 4 — it took me four or five emails with IK to figure it out. And once unlocked, it’s still a hamstrung version, where most of the best amps, cabs, speakers, effects, and presets remain paid upgrades. But you get plenty of basic stuff to work with for non-critical applications. Considering the hardware and software together only cost $100, my gripe is more with the misleading marketing claims than the product itself. The electronics in the iRig HD2 seem to be of high digital quality, but the unit itself is very light weight and feels kind of flimsy — even it it isn’t. The weak point is the connection point for, and/or the USB chord on the unit side. Once plugged in and working, if the unit jiggles — which is pretty likely when a guitar chord plugged into it — the connection between the hardware and AmpliTube 4 usually drops for a few seconds, and when it does, you have to reboot AmpliTube 4. Imagine that in a live environment. AmpliTube 4 is kind of buggy, too. When I first started using this setup, it seemed to be working properly on both of my Mac laptops, but after a few months, I’ve had trouble with software crashes on both machines. I can usually get it to come back, and it seems to have stabilized again, but at one point, I needed (on both machines) to delete my AmpliTube 4.settings file from the IK Multimedia directory deep within the system library so the software would generate a new, clean one. Only my decades in the software industry led me to try this, and it did seem to solve the problem. You can create support tickets with IK, and they do get back to you, but my dealings with support on the unlocking the real version of AmpliTube 4 situation didn’t fill me with a lot of confidence. I use this setup for practice only — through Mac earbuds, no less, so the sound quality isn’t particularly inspiring in my particular use-case. Given that IK pitches this as both a live a recording solution, your mileage may vary. For live, IMO, I wouldn’t rely on it for anything larger than a coffee house kind of gig, where it might be enough. Though the chance of the connection dropping or the software crashing would likely scare me off. For recording using AmpliTube 4 as your amp, you might get good results, and as I said, I haven’t experienced any latency issues. Personally, I’d have to hear it in the context of recorded tracks, through studio monitors. Summary: I wanted a way to centralize my entire practice routine and all of my resources (TABs, backing tracks, reference diagrams, videos, practice log,) onto my laptop. iRig HD2 let me do that at a very reasonable cost.

I was bit worried before i got this. It has worked out fantastic. I was almost pulling my hair out getting Amplitube 5 SE and Tonex SE. I thought my purchase wasnt unlocking anything different than the free version. Beside the search gear just below tonex on top right make sure it is a file with a tick. I had accidentally changed it to a file symbol with and tick and an x so it was showing me tons of locked things you dont get and was making the hiss you get on free version. But alas its working great all my amps tons of pedals and ive used tonex se before its great i haven't even tried it yet. The sounds on this are amazing. Ive just realised the usb c to usb c cable seems a bit hit and miss. The software is great i dont want to return this now but not pleased decent usb c cables arent cheap. Will try my ipad lead to see.

A sam iRig?
