Contigo AUTOSEAL Randolph Stainless Steel Travel Mug Vacuum Insulated, 16oz, Midnight Blue

Now that my old leakproof travel mugs are finally falling apart, I looked for a new one that didn't have the same disadvantages, I wanted mugs that didn't leak when tossed into a tote bag, could be easily cleaned in the dishwasher, and kept my coffee hot. Oh yes, and my husband wanted a handle.This is it... Our new favorite. I didn't realize when I bought it that the top opens for cleaning so easily, or that there is a 'lock' position on the handle so that the mug can't be opened by accident. Coffee stays hot, mug stays clean, and I no longer have accidental coffee drips when I accidentally ok upset my mug on my desk or in my car.The only disadvantage I have found is that it can be difficult to use for a person with small hands. Mine are large and even so, holding a full mug one-handed while using the same hand to hold open the spout takes a little strength to hold the mug in a drinking position.But, this is a very minor issue. The fact that this can be picked up and used either left or right handed is wonderful. And unlike my old mug where I would click the spout to 'open', then sip my coffee (and spill it because I rarely clicked it back to 'close' while driving), this one is only open while I'm holding it. No more spills.Be careful looking at these though. I bought two more of different colors, and found that while they looked identical to these, they did NOT have the sliding lock on the handle. I LIKE the lock and was disappointed.Updated dec 26 - I just ordered 2 more. No locks on the lids, so I returned them. So apparently getting lids with the lock is hit or miss.

I've been looking for a good travel mug with the features I want. I've bought several and tried them out. I ordered this because I wanted an anti-leak thermos and the other Contigo models got a lot of fabulous reviews, but also a significant number of reviews saying it was impossible to clean the locking lid and that they had to throw out their lid because it got moldy and couldn't be cleaned. This lid is a new design that easily unlocks to open up so you can clean all the nooks and crannies in 20 seconds or less.I would say it probably keeps my coffee hot for two hours, not as many as advertised, but usually my coffee is too hot anyway so I leave the lid off to get it to a cooler temperature for awhile. That is probably the reason it seems to get lukewarm in two hours.Pros:It is definitely leakproof, is light, and is easy to clean!Cons:This newer lid design has two different versions: one locks so that the mouthpiece can't be opened until it's unlocked, and one does not lock so that the handle can be pressed down by something else if you just toss it in your bag. I would never just toss my thermos in my bag, no matter how leakproof it's supposed to be, so it's not a big deal for me, but you should look into getting the lockable lid if you are concerned about that.

This is my second Contigo Randolph purchase and was impossible to find any in local bricks and mortar stores. I find this to be the single best travel mug I've ever purchased (and I've gone through many). Will hold at least 2 cups of liquid. Top seals tightly and locks so no splashes or spills. Very durable and well made. Will keep hot beverages hot and cold beverages cold at least 1 hour longer than 4/8 hours stated on the product information. Easy to clean. Well worth the investment and even purchasing 1 extra as a spare while your other mug is in the dishwasher. Amazon delivered overnight so I am very happy with this transaction.

I wanted a mug that would keep coffee HOT, that had a handle, and that did not have a plastic rim where coffee gunk would lodge and hide, sneaking out into my coffee and grossing me out. I searched and searched, but couldn't find anything. This mug seemed expensive, so I looked at it many times, but didn't buy it, opting for a less expensive plastic one. Mistake. The plastic one will be fine for summer, but was not adequate for coffee. Finally I decided to just go ahead and spend the money....and I wish I had done it months ago. I've had the mug for over a month now, and its FABULOUS. I love the color, I love the metallic glimmer, I love the vacuum seal, I love the push button to drink feature...it doesn't leak, even if you hold it upside down and shake it. I pour it, drive to work and drink from it an hour later and it's piping hot. SO easy to clean, no residual yuck. I plan to buy another one just in case anything happens t this one. HIGHLY recommend it. Well worth every penny.

Brilliant mug!! Really does seal completely!!

Being a delivery driver i was fed up with my coffee going cold before i had chance to finish it. This cup is fantastic, keeps my coffee hot for hours and is really easy to clean, the handle opens up for cleaning and so does the inside of the spout.PRODUCT UPDATE, after having the cup a couple of weeks i dropped it a couple of feet and the handle broke, its pretty useless now, fiddly to use. The handle is very flimsy and easy to break. :(
