An excellent replacement for the Leatherman Micra
For more than 10 years, I carried a Leatherman Micra with me. It was one of the most useful and durable tools I have ever owned. I used it almost every day for something. But then one day I lost it. I have no idea where it went, but I needed a replacement. So I went to order a new one and discovered that the price has DOUBLED since I bought mine! Mine was originally $25, but now the Micra sells for $50. That’s really crazy. I understand inflation and all, but $50? I would have understood if it was selling for $30 or $35 after all of these years, but that was too much. So I started looking elsewhere to see if I could find any small multitool that would be a worthy replacement for my beloved Micra. I looked at every multitool on the market. It’s really hard to find any tool this size that has good scissors. Since the scissors were the main part of the Micra that I used, that was the most important feature to me. After much research, I finally came across the Mini Sailor Scissors from NexTool. Since I received it, I have been quite happy with this tool. It is slightly larger than the Micra, but not enough to be noticeable unless you have them side by side. The scissors work great, and I’m also very happy with the quality of the knife, bottle opener, and screwdrivers. Those were the main features of the Micra that I used. The best part is the price. This tool sells for half the price of the Micra, although it’s just as good in almost every respect. The only feature it doesn’t have that the Micra did that I miss are the tweezers, but for half the price I can live without that part. I highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a quality multitool that includes scissors.

Very nice tool imo
This tool is not Leatherman quality. But it is quite good. The scissors are extremely functional. They clipped my hard nails even at the very end of the scissors blade. I was pleasantly surprised how good they work. I also really like the tiny plyers. They are almost toy like. But they are perfect for a city slicker, to turn a stuck nut on a computer, for example. The file is almost useless, even for the finger nails. But all the other tools are useful. The scales seem aluminum. It is a great 5th pocket tool. I wish it was a bit smaller and lighter, so it could be a keychain tool, like swiss army knife. I also wish it was just a bit less expensive, but only because we have been spoiled by inexpensive things made in China. But the quality of this tool feels a little better than the cheap tools of yester-years, and compared to Gerber dime, it is already, not a bad value.Overall, I like this tool.

Feels sturdy, nice weight. I love(d) the scissors…
I really love this little multitool. It’s fairly compact at 2 5/8 x 1 x 5/8 inches. It feels nice in my hand and does not feel cheap in any way. The tools open smoothly and have satisfying snap when they click into place. The fingernail notches in the knife and file could have been oriented more towards the front of those tools which would offer more leverage and make them easier to open. However, that wasn’t a big issue for me. The scissors are the best part by far and my main reason for the purchase. I really liked the scissors.Unfortunately, a year later the scissor spring snapped. I used them daily and they have stayed clean and sharp. If it weren’t for the spring, I would imagine the scissors would have lasted a long time. I went to use them last week and there was an unusual snap. The spring appears to be captive between the two halves and inaccessible without drilling out the rivet that holds the scissors together. I will have to leave that as a project for another day. I could still use the scissors as-is, but the lack of any spring return makes it extremely awkward. I’m contemplating buying a second one as I really did like it.Would I recommend this tool? Absolutely. If you are looking for a light duty pocket tool or something to add to a keychain, I think this is a winner. Maybe I used the scissors a little too frequently?I do wish the scissors were screwed together to facilitate a repair in my circumstance. The rest of the tool is easy to disassemble if you are looking to mod it. The parts are interchangeable with the pliers version which I also own.

Not a Leatherman but equally good quality
I really wanted the pliers setup my Leatherman squirt had, but bought this since the squirt is not available any more. Very pleasantly surprised, like the quality and well worth the price
