Great classy piece
If I had to nitpick anything about this watch it would be how some numerals are cut off and how TUES is not within its ring. I understand they did TUES the way they did to avoid it being cut off, but WED was left within the ring and is slightly cut off, so I would rather they kept the symmetry and the expense of a cutoff letter. Similarly, I would have preferred the complications placed and sized slightly differently so certain numerals weren't missing their 'feet'. But again, just nitpicks that aren't important enough to lower my rating. That being said, this is a very excellent watch. I already have a small collection and just the few minutes I spent wearing it to adjust the band and try it on (I haven't had a chance to wear it anywhere) this may be my favorite so far. The watch is extremely comfortable and lightweight to the point I could see forgetting I even have it on. This is my first leather strap with a clasp (not sure if that's the actual name for it) and it works remarkably well offering the snap-on convenience of a metal bracelet, with the comfort and easy wrist sizing (no fiddling with removing links!) of a leather band.Despite my earlier nitpicks, this features a beautiful and elegant dial. I opted for the "brown" model and the sepia toned dial combined with the copper toned body matches probably even better than the pictures give it justice. And then you add in the brown leather and it's a complete package where every part compliments each other in a way few watches pull off this well, in my opinion. There's really not much to be said about the craftsmanship of this piece. It's an Orient which is a quality watchmaker. This watch is a bit pricey, but not absurdly so. I believe you get what you pay for and this watch strikes the perfect balance of price vs quality and features which gives it great value even if it's not a so-called investment watch like a Rolex or Omega or such (which I would be almost scared to even wear).I don't write many reviews, and it's a testament to how impressed I was with this particular watch that I took the time to do so. Even my last watch which was a Tissot around the same price point didn't inspire me to take the time out of my day to wax poetic about it (it was quite nice too but I didn't find it as comfortable to wear).

A Feast for the Eye
As others have said, a photo doesn’t do this watch justice. That’s because of the depth of the face. This is a six-layer cake of a watch. At the bottom is the date layer, then the day indicator layer with the lower part of the face with guilloche detailing, then the upper part of the dial with the same detailing and the day/night indicator. The day/night indicator does not show moon phase, nor does it claim to do so. Then you have the three hands layered above which appear to be hovering well over the face. This accentuates the depth and looks stunning. The second hand movement is very classy with only a hint of stop during the sweep. The sapphire crystal appears to have a middle layer that may magnify or focus the inner dial and is visible when held at an angle. This is a gorgeous watch when seen in person. Yes, the Roman numerals are truncated on the left side of the dial, but this seems to be a design choice by Orient. The v4 also has truncated numbers, at 8 and 10. This may be a matter of Orient deciding to fit the face to the caliber, rather than vise versa. And while the Roman numeral IIII may only exist in Japan, I find it a bit quirky and fun. The deployant clasp is also very well done and is quite comfortable. My wrist is 7.5” and I have two holes left on the alligator style leather strap which feels and looks high quality. This watch will be just as at home with a suit and tie as with jeans and a leather jacket. As others have mentioned, the height is 14.5mm thick so you may need to use the second wrist button on a dress shirt. So far, the time seems on par with other automatic watches as it’s run about 5 seconds fast over the past two days. The winding mechanism is also very smooth. For the price point, this watch checks all the boxes for an even more highly priced watch. Everything about this watch is elegant and I’m quite happy with my purchase.
