It works. Sadly their stuff it expensive. But i cannot fault quality so far.

As with all my reviews, I do not accept free things for writing reviews, I purchase items for myself and then review them to help other potential customers with real world experiences using them. The ball mount itself is well made and holds very securly. It's far better than the rubber covered ball mounts that allow the mounted device flop around. When you tighten the clamping part of the mount it stays put. The finish is nice and even and there are no burrs or sharp edges, it looks good. That is the good. Unfortunantly, the threaded screw portion is just not long enough except for very casual use. For anything important you want a minimum of 1.4 or greater thread engagement meaning the diameter of the screw/bolt is 1/4" so the threaded portion should be at least that long to engage the female threads. Thats if it in grade 2 threaded nuts for example. In any softer material it needs to be much more. In a practical example, lets say as I wanted to do, you have a quick release two part mount where a base is secured to the Bulletpoint ball and the other part is quick detatchable so you can remove it for whatever reason. The ball mount which is threaded into the base would be secured to the clamping stalk. In this way a simple lever switch allows you to remove the device (a camera, phone, tablet etc) leaving behind the base, ball mount and stalk. Here comes the issue: Many bases have a recessed thread (female 1/4-20) meaning that the threads don't start at the surface but start perhaps 1/8" into the hole. With this ball mount you are left with about 1/8" of thread for securing it to the base. If this was standard no big deal but it isn't standard and to that I point to another ball mount that starts with a Pana and ends with a Vise. That ball mount that a proper length of thread so it can properly mate to just about anything, recessed threads or not. If the bolt/screw in the Bulletpoint could easily be removed and exchanged for a longer on that would be fantastic but it doesn't work that way. Now, if you are just using this for very casual unimportant assemblies that is ok and this works but it's not for trusting a mounting solution where expensive devices need to remain securely mounted. This gets 2 stars. The design is really good but the manufacturer didn't go the extra step to make the exposed threads just another 1/4" or better yet slightly longer. One can always remove a portion of the exposed threads if they are too long, adding to them is not remotely practical. If the manufacturer allowed the customer to remove the screw and replace it with a longer one they'd have a winning design but as it is, it's an almost good enough but not quite.
