I am 53 years young. Since the age of 14 I have known that I am allergic to all metals that are not .925 silver and 10 karat gold or higher. I wear on average six rings every week, most them stering silver. I can do anything with my rings on except swim in a pool. Pool water will not hurt gold, it will tarnish silver in about 30 minutes. All jewelry should be cleaned once or twice a year with a soft jewelry cloth or a gentle jewelry cleaner. For a good liquid jewelry cleaner talk a store like Zales or Kay's Jewelry for a cleaner that will clean and protect your silver or gold and any stones that are in them. It can take months or years for silver to tarnish. As for covid, please do not worry or stress about. Treat covid like you would our yearly flu pandemic.

No 12 is 12 I don’t know what the diameter is I just know it fits on my right hand I have thicker fingers

Q: What size (4 or 5) would you buy for little 7 year old? She wants to wear it on her middle finger and it measures for a size 5. Does that sound right?

I bought a size 5 for myself and it fit perfectly. If it’s for her middle finger it should fit fine and as she grows can switch it to her ring finger
