Four Stars
Written so that it's an easy read and enjoyable. Not like a "text book" at all.

Everyone should have this book
This book is phenomenal. I've just ordered my second copy, as I gave away my first, as well as have procured in lots for teams of folks who I knew would benefit from it.Demonica surfaces challenges we all face in a simple, straight forward way that everyone can understand, and expertly leads you to the "why you should care about lean thinking" body of water. She relates her approach to your personal life as well as your work life, helping you to examine things in your life you may have not previously noticed or seen, that have massive impacts to your time and energy. We've all heard of "work smarter, not harder" - this book is one of the best guides on how to do exactly that. Recognize the "thieves of time" and attack them, freeing up cognitive energy and ensuring you're spending time and energy on the right things at the right time.Everyone should have this book. Thank you Demonica!

Tools for productivity and effectivenss
Like many productivity books Making Work Visible is focused on one approach. However, that doesn't diminish its value. Actually it increases it as its easier to implement the insights gain from the book. I've read the previous book Personal Kanban which I'll rate a 5 star also --when the task comes up on my Kanban board ;-) -- which I've experimented with the past several weeks. My productivity increased, getting a lot of items off my to do list which had been on there way too long. However, I was still finding several items not progressing to the done column, nor did I feel that all of my accomplishments added up to greater effectiveness. Reading Making Work Visible has given me insight and tools to address the why some specific items are stuck. I'll likely have to wait till I finish the book to gain more insights and tools on the effectiveness issue. That said I'll put this as one of my Top 10 reads for 2017 .

It's important to find and remove time waste from our work and Dominica does a great job showing how to find and remove waste.
Do you know where all of the time in your team is spent?Do you have too much in progress making so that you can't get enough done? Are you losing time to people just dropping by?or communicating status? This book will show you how to examine the process you are following and how you approach work so that you can find and then remove the largest ways that time is stolen from your teams. While the examples in the book mostly come down to use of Kanban and Lean principles, spend some extra time thinking about how the different time thieves may be affecting your team and you should find that you can recognize and remove the issues using minor adaptations of your current process.Dominica does a great job showing where time can be wasted and how to identify and remove the waste.

Outstanding book
I was trying to find something that truly captured all the frustrations accumulated through the years on my daily work and named them as they are time thieves. This has to be the handbook of every software engineer, every technology organization, regardless the size. The book changed my perspective and hope that my organization some day.

Excellent Guide for Development Teams
An excellent guide to applying visual management tools (Kanban) to identify patterns that cause work to get backed-up, particularly for software development or IT teams. Does not prescribe a one-size-fits-all solution, but rather presents some options and guides the reader through finding the right fit.

ABSOLUTAMENTE DESESPERANTE
