This guy is EXCELLENT. What a sound! He reminds me at times of Nick Drake and at others of Paul Simon - but mostly of Leonard Cohen. Lovely haunting atmospheric melodies and simple intriguing lyrics. I understand he recorded the album in Nederland CO - was it at Caribou Ranch? As a fellow Boulder County-ite (is that even a word?) I can relate to his images drawn from nature in this part of the world. "Amsterdam", "Living Proof", and "Second Chances" are real gems on this album. Can play it over and over and it doesn't get old. Get your hands on it and LISTEN.

I was so excited to receive this vinyl. I like everyone else first discover GAI while listening to “Time Will Tell” on a commercial and I can say that he’s one of my favorite artists who I love every song by him and I’m definitely walking down the aisle to one of his songs. As for the vinyl, the quality is good. Once given a good clean it sounds good. One problem I have is the sound quality of one side is better than the other. It comes with a paper sleeves covering the vinyl which is good but if you want to keep your vinyls in mint condition. I recommend getting some better sleeves. I was a little taken back by the cover of the vinyl it’s brown and not the beige color that I was expecting. Overall definitely worth it!

Un disc molt complet d un gran compositor

A beautiful collection of songs by a young singer/songwriter who is just becoming more widely known. Beautiful voice, lovely instrumentation and arrangements, "Weatherman" harkens back to the best of original "folk" music. "Amsterdam", the first cut, is gorgeous. I've played the album over and over ever since it arrived in the mail. Have a listen.

Superb album. Such an original sound with amazing lyrics. Vinyl surface absolutely dire. I've had 2 copies and both are well below an acceptance standard. Buy the CD if you've half decent equipment.

星が５つしかないので、それ以上はつけられませんが、それをはるかに超えたものがあります。言葉では、なかなかうまく表現できませんが、全てのジャンルの音楽を吸収し、消化し、自分のオリジナリティまで高められたシンプルな歌がそこにはあります。朗々と歌われる歌は、風景や自然、生活、夢などと一体になり、コロラドの大自然の中にたたずんでいるかのようです。 グレゴリーアランは、コロラドに住み、コロラドのミュージックシーンをこよなく愛しているようです。と書くと、どうしてもカントリーミュージックを連想してしまいますが、それだけではなく、ジャズやポップスの香りも随所に散りばめられています。この人は、アレンジにも関わっていて、シンプルながらも歌の良さを存分に引き立てています。そこからも、この人の音楽に対する造詣の深さがうかがわれます。グレゴリーのアルバムは全て持っています。このアルバムも勿論良いのですが、個人的なお勧めは、コロラドシンフォニーと一緒にレコーディングしたアルバムです。言葉を失うほど素晴らしいアルバムでした。
