Smiling Friends: The Complete First Season (Blu-ray)

Smiling Friends is one of the funniest and most unique adult animated shows I’ve seen in years. The humor is bizarre in the best way, with sharp writing, unpredictable storylines, and unforgettable characters. Watching it on Blu-ray is a treat — the picture quality is super crisp, and it’s great having all the episodes in one place without relying on streaming. I only wish there were more special features, but overall, this is a great purchase for fans of surreal comedy. Highly recommend!“We’re the Smiling Friends! We try to make people smile.”

Funny little creatures in “real” world scenarios is something that writers could get wrong easily, but Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack (and the other talented writers and directors) know what they’re doing! The show is funny and the voice acting is charming - I hope there are many more seasons to come.

Optional episode commentary is done by the co-creators which also voice the main characters. The case has a slipcover and the inner lining includes artwork and an episode list. Now I can watch it on repeat no matter who owns the IP.All of this is guaranteed to make you smile.

If you love quirky humor and off-the-wall animation, Smiling Friends Season 1 on Blu-ray is a must. The show is full of bizarre, laugh-out-loud moments with crazy characters like Pim and Charlie trying to make people happy in the weirdest ways.The Blu-ray looks and sounds great – way better than streaming! The extras are cool too, with behind-the-scenes content for fans. If you’re into oddball comedy, this is definitely worth picking up. Highly recommend!

Smiling Friends is by far one of the best adult cartoons ever made just from it's 2 seasons out alone. Just from a review of the season on this disc it would be a 5 stars, but the disc is a little flawed.For one the case is a very basic plastic Blu-Ray case, which is mostly fine, but something a bit more quality would have been nice. The cover art is very simple, but I think it's very effective regardless and conveys the show very well. I had no issues with the disc falling out of place in the case in shipping which has been an issue for me on many of these cheap cases.The disc has very few special features but the commentary track is insanely entertaining. If you are a fan of Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack's sense of humor you will find this to be one of the funniest commentary tracks you've heard.This is a very bare-bones Blu-Ray and it would have been nice to have a tad bit more supplementary material this gets the job done. It's a great show with a serviceable encode/authoring job and a great commentary track. Nothing much else I can say, but buy this disc and put on a happy face!

Smiling Friends is one of my favorite shows to be released these last few years. Every episode is just fun, and filled with references that will amuse those not in on the joke, and absolutely delight those who do.
