Pro: Fit my window horizontally, and it worked beautifully once I figured out how to put the extension piece together. For my window, no cutting was required!Con: Putting it together seemed simple enough, but the instructions were lacking in some specificity. For example, in which direction the pieces should be applied. Also, I would have liked the exhaust hose cutout hole to be closer to the center. I only used one of the extensions and it's exhausting a smidge into my window panel.Nonetheless, none of the cons are a deal breaker, and I recommend that you get it!

I had read previous reviews and agree that the written instructions aren't great. I watched the instructional video provided on the products page here on Amazon. I took screen shots of all the nuances and it worked well. The mistake I made, is it was too long and I didn't consider measuring the length of the window before I ordered. But, we were able to cut it down to make it fit. Also, another tip for fitting the hose into this adaptor (I read reviews where it didn't fit) and here is what we did: we used a wire cutter and snapped the first wire on the hose so that it would collapse and we could then mold it to fit into the hole provided. We also used duct tape to seal both ends of the hose into the AC unit and this adaptor piece. Honestly, I cannot imagine one would ever fit perfectly without some sort of rigging (we used silver duct tape for the security but will cover it up with white tape for aesthetics. Its in our bedroom so its not like people will see it, but for those who keep it in a more public place in their home should consider this option). Also, keep in mind that the hose has some weight on it and this duct tape not only seals the hose into the adaptor and AC unit outlet, but it also helps to alleviate the downward pressure of the weight of the hose. Lastly, we didn't use the air seal yet so I don't know how well that will work. Overall, I think this is a very acceptable product for the price but know that the video makes it look simpler than it is and to embrace duct tape to perfect the functionality of it. (I think it was at least half the price of what I could buy it for at a local store like Home Depot).

Fit perfect and cheap

The Gulrear Portable AC Window Vent Kit saved me from my DIY window “solution” (a.k.a. duct tape, cardboard, and desperation). This kit is like the superhero my portable AC didn’t know it needed. It's okay

I purchased a used portable AC on Craigslist. One thing that wasn't included was the window kit. This window kit is perfect for setting up my AC. It's easy to install and fit my window w/o any extra adjustments. I highly recommend it for anyone who is considering buying a used AC and needs the window kit.

First off, the fitting used to attach the hose to the window kit is nearly impossible to install onto the hose - it required many awful attempts with needle nose pliers and in turn, damaged the hose itself. Second, the hole in the window kit where the hose is attached is a couple mm too wide in diameter (give or take) and any change in pressure from my ac unit causes the hose to fall out of the window kit. Third, the way the window bracket is designed leaves a giant gap on either side of the center bracket, allowing an unintentional draft - of course they attempt to remedy this by including foam tape, but the foam tape is thicker than the gap itself, which creates two more gaps on the top and bottom brackets when you close the window.All in all, this was just a really terrible experience.
