Q: Can you switch nibs while it’s hot?

Q: Even though this unit is rated at 25 watts, can I use nibs that are rated at higher wattage, like 30w to 50w?

Q: Can I get this along with a solid tip pen and switch them out accordingly? So I can also use it to form plastic models.

it is not a soldering iron in which they get hotter, as for the tip it is a two prong burning system, you would have to check the company's website for the solid tip amd now you cannot form plastics you need a bigger heat source for that

Q: Can you do deep grooves with this?

I bought this product specifically to outline lettering on leather by *lightly* coloring the line. I do use leatherworking tools to create a rounded groove around the letter to a depth of my choosing, and then use the tool to heat the leather in the groove to a temp that changes the leather's color to my choice. Each piece of leather reacts differently to heat, and the adjustable temperature control works perfectly to control the tip temperature. So my answer to your question is "Yes", at least on leather.
