One of their best
The media could not be loaded. Vinyl is harder to listen to with a cheaper system like mine. Just really tinny sounding on first song but this album is amazing no matter what! Everyone says it’s not the rhcp best but the rawness is so real for me with this one! Vinyl itself came perfect. No warping. Plays perfectly!!!

Very surprising album
Now, to set the record straight, I only started listening to RHCP's music after Californication and I was weaned on hits like GET ON TOP and DON'T STOP. The poppy (for lack of a better word) sound of their music from that album onwards were what got me hearing them in the first place. I never knew what albums like One Hot Minute and Blood Sugar Sex Magik sounded like. So I thought why not start on some of them.So there I was, listening to One Hot Minute and I thought it really sucked. I was convinced it sucked because it sounded so different from their latter albums. I also knew the hype of this album before I plunged in, Dave Navvaro taking over as lead guitarist and all that, so I was prepared to hate it alot. But I started listening more. Then I started listening more after that. The sounds really weren't bad after a few listenings. Then as I listened to my favorites again (Coffee Shop, My friends, Aeroplane, Walkabout), I began thinking that this album might just be the best I've heard from the group. What a turnaround! The pace of the songs are sort of slower to my relatively untrained ear and the sounds are darker and sadder like they said, but the catchy guitar rhythms started surfacing in the songs and me, being a guitar player who likes catchy riffs, really found myself swinging to the unique beats of this album. They were that good.Make no mistake, this album is very different from Californication and upwards, but I guarantee you will find yourself liking the sounds nevertheless. Now, I don't even recall me liking CAN'T STOP and GET ON TOP. That's a great testament to the greatness of this album.

As expected
The vinyl is a bit thinner but no issues with playing it, sounds great actually. No frills packaging but I expected that with low price. Amazing album but most probably know that already.

Cool & interesting album!
It's hilarious that no one has rated or commented on this album! Despite the fact that this one "only" sold 8M copies and that the RHCP's themselves have said some lukewarm things about it, it still holds up b/c it retains the trademark funk influence along with a slightly harder, edgier guitar feel to it thanks to Dave Navarro! "Aeroplane" and "My Friends" were great, radio-friendly tunes, "Pea" is the first and only song recorded with Flea singing alone & accompanying himself on bass, "Coffee shop" features a blazing bass solo, "One Big Mob" features a rap-chant approach that harkens back to the earlier days with Hillel, "Shallow Be They Game" sounds like an extension of the tracks from the previous album, "Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic" and "Tearjerker" hints at the mellower side of the RHCP's -first evident in "Under the Bridge" and thoroughly emphasized in "Stadium Arcadium" with Dave N's shimmering guitar work-- The group clearly took a fresh approach in this effort--bass/guitar/vocal go in directions that they had not explored up to this point in their history. So Hillel and John F. weren't in the group. It's still a cool piece of the RHCP's history and Dave Navarro did a great job on this album.

Underrated album and a quality vinyl pressing
This is a tremendous album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but is highly underrated due to the absence of John Frusciante. I originally was not a big fan of this album, but upon revisiting it I have found a new appreciation for it.This is a quality vinyl pressing. Not a single crack or pop throughout. However, I would like to point out that this is not the limited edition colored vinyl as highlighted by another reviewers photos. I also came across this album in the colored vinyl section on Amazon, so I was disappointed that I did not receive the red vinyl, but a great album none the less.

There last good album in my opinion!
I remember being in junior high and buying this on cassette with my Christmas money when it came out. They did a radio promo 2 hr interview and I recorded the whole thing on audio cassette. This album will always mean something special to me. Flea inspired me to start playing bass over 23 years ago!! This is highly recommend from me!!!

The only bad comment I have about this is the way it ...
I am a big fan of the rhcp and I have only heard a few songs on this album and when I got the money and saw the relatively cheap price I had to get it. The only bad comment I have about this is the way it was packaged in the album keys the record protector was bent not enough to damage the record but I'm the kind of person who likes to have their things nice and passed down generations but the record was amazing I've had it for about 2 months now one of the best things I've ever bought
