I got these for my son to make for Christmas gifts!! The people we gave them to loved them and we ended up buying more! The lights are so pretty and bright! If you have someone who likes to tinker, these are perfect to build!

great gift

All the components were there, and it was relatively easy for my kids (ages 7 and 9 years old) to solder them in place. The only instructions were in Chinese, but the kids were able to figure it all out on the first try. They did have a bit of a head scratch on what direction to put in the LEDs, but correctly guessed that negative went with the white side on the board. Note that two CR2032 batteries are required but not included.

It does not come with the batteries to power the kit. It requires two CR2032 coin batteries. I only point this out so that those who order the kit can have a heads up to make sure they either have some already or order some with it. Other than that, because I didn’t know that, the kit is pretty straightforward. I’ve wanted to get better at soldering circuit boards for a long time, so I only ordered this along with some other kits for practice. I’ve been soldering for decades, but only wires and such. Was never too good at the tiny stuff. Would recommend. This one’s actually kind of cool looking, especially in the dark. An appreciative young one would definitely get a kick out of it, especially if they did the assembly.

I enjoyed this one, not to complicated,and I even made it to the end. The part that it works is bonus.

I have only recently gotten into soldering and this was a great little project. The instructions were very clear and assembly went well. The included pieces have exceptionally long wires so it is very forgiving. Definitely a great kit for a beginner.

We got these sets for our kids to learn how to solder. They wanted to learn and we wanted to get them off of screens. Their grandfather, a retired electrician, was going to teach them, but there are no instructions, just a stupid QR code, which actually takes you to a website full of QR codes. So my electrician father wasn't sure how to put the kits together because there are no directions included, just QR codes that take you in a QR code circle. But even if the QR codes did work, we would still rate this low because we want our kids to get off of screens to do this activity.
