We have had wood fireplaces in a number of previous homes. I mention this because we finally converted our latest home to gas logs – but we really needed a set of fireplace tools for aesthetics. But we also have considerable experience using fireplace tools. Aesthetics: We are very happy with the look they have provided. They look good and well made. There are lots of choices – all in the same price range – and if this look appeals to you, these are a good choice. Function: The shovel and brush are pretty standard.The poker is not the heavy cast end piece I have had in the past – and I think the design is better. It has a longer, more defined barb for pulling and pushing logs.I have never had tongs, but I now wish I had. These are heavier duty than they look in the picture, and would have been a godsend when I inevitably knocked a log out of the andirons.All in all, if the look appeals to you, this is a good set of tools.

The fireplace tools provide everything needed to manage a fire. I really like that they fit into the attached container, but it is easy to knock them over. Perhaps a way to lock them in place would be helpful because when they get bumped, the tools make a loud noise clattering on the floor. Otherwise, the design is solid and should last through many fire seasons.

The Kingston Fireplace Tools 5-piece set is an upgrade from the sad and sorry struggle tools I was using. The fireplace tools in this set are a poker, tongs, shovel, brush, and stand. The fixtures are sturdy and have a good heft. They are not flimsy at all. The tongs can grab and hold a log without the worry of it rolling or slipping when it’s being moved. The tools are super easy to put together. I did it without looking at the instructions. Just screw the parts onto their poles, and it’s ready to use. I recommend checking the preassembled tools to tighten the handles if they are a little loose like one of the tools I received. The wrought iron base is weighted so the stand doesn’t wobble or easily fall over. Everything can be used both indoors and outdoors.This set of tools can go with lots of different types of decor. I’m working on leveling up my fireplace area. The Kingston set helped elevate the look.

These screw together, then come unscrewed from the handles as you’re trying to wrestle hot wood. Not great. The tools are ok, but a solid handle works better and is so much safer. I’d pass on these unless you just burn in your stove or fireplace for aesthetics, these are not daily use tools.

These fireplace tools were easy to put together (directions included, but not necessary) and are really heavy duty so they will last for years to come. I like the log tongs...they're easy to use, even picking up and rearranging large logs. And I'm super excited about the little sweeper and dustpan. It's nice to have them right there to sweep up coals and ashes and toss them back into the fireplace.
