ZHIYUN MOLUS G200 [Official] 200W Video Light with Bowens Mount, Portable Light with Ultra Quiet DynaVort Cooling System, ZY Vega APP Control, 85800Lux/m 2700K-6500K

The media could not be loaded. First impressions of this light: it's extremely solid and very well built, and it's also really powerful. We bought it as a fill light for live-streaming and it does its job remarkably well even at just half power. It's too powerful for my office/home podcast studio at over 10% brightness. So you can be pretty sure that this device is going to have enough capacity for whatever video or photographic work you need lighting for. Although it's solid, it's not heavy - splitting the power supply from the light itself perhaps helps. And it comes in an equally nicely made custom-fit case which holds everything together and should keep everything safe in transit. I've already highlighted how powerful it is - we're talking seriously bright - but the colour temperature is variable too and there's a decent range here as well. The cold white looks ice-cold but the warmer hues have a gentle sunset tinge without becoming too gold or orange in tone. It’s quick and easy to put together and dismantle and connects to a standard lighting stand (not included but most people who need this light will surely have one or two hanging around). It’s also really easy to control, with an on-off and dials for colour temperature and brightness on the power supply (which comes with a thick rubber hook to clip to a stand), but also with app control. I’ve shown some of these features in the video here – please note there’s no audio there. The app is great – free to download and it worked straight away on my iPhone, finding the light via Bluetooth and connecting really quickly – and control here is instant, with full adjustment of temperature, power and brightness and a few very handy presets which can be selected with a single tap – I liked the daylight setting very much but I think you can create and save your own presets too. This is more of a light than some will need, but I can’t imagine too many people needing a better light than this, or indeed finding one – it’s a thoroughly impressive device. I’ve tried to show as much of it in the photos and video clip as I can, because it isn’t cheap and people will want to know what they’re getting. But I do think it’s a great quality video light which will more than meet most requirements, last well and look good doing it.

I love the look and feel of this unbelievable compact but powerful light I have used it over the weekend to film a couple of videos for YouTube, it is an absolute power houses and couldn’t even hear the fan kick in.I have been using two Aputure 120 D and as one had given up the ghost I went for this one and I love it so much I am going to get another one when I need to replace my other 120D as I feel it is loads better and if you really need it there is a boost mode which knocks the socks off the rest of my other lights.On top of the sheer power of this little beast is its size It would got into my Camera bag really easily if needed even though it comes with a nice strong case itself so would be great for shooting out and about, unlike my other portable lights which need an adapter for a Bowens mounts this has a full size Bowens mount all of my existing domes and lanterns will fit perfectly.I am not sure what the body and casing is made of but it feels like good quality and the app works really well if you want to have that flexibility.The LCD readout works great and the controls are simple to use, on the power brick there is a rubber strap to hang it on a light stand if needed.I would definitely recommend this to anyone, it does a great job is less expensive than other similar powered lights and it is compact and easy to cart around with you, if there was one thing I would have liked to have seen is the ability to run it with a V-Mount battery of some sort so maybe Zhiyun will come up with a solution and as I said I will be looking to buy at least one more in the near future.

Really like this light! I’ve worked with different brands of COB’s in the past and the G200 really pushes the boundaries. The size makes the power impressive and storage easy. The fan is relatively silent, until max mode is on, then it gets audible. The Bowens mount is reliable, able to hold my 85cm soft box. The ability to be bi-colour sets it apart from other lights in this price category, keeping constant temperature throughout.The only thing I partially worry about is reliability, but only time will tell. There are no option for additional power, but that’s up to your use case.If you’re thinking of picking up it up I’d recommend! A sleeper choice of design is the IEC cable over a AC adapter.

Aside from the awkward appearance, particularly the ballast, I like the G200. I was able to compare it at 1 meter to my Aputure LS 300X and it was consistently the same output or slightly brighter, with and without the reflector and at all color temps. This was at 200W. When the boost mode is engaged, it goes up about 1 stop, though the fan becomes slightly noisy.I do miss having battery capabilities, but the much lower price (compared to the LS 300X) and much smaller size are quite nice. I haven't tested the strength of the Bowens and umbrella mounts with a heavier modifier yet. The body is mostly thick plastic, but of some quality. Also haven't tested the limited effects or wireless controls yet. I do hope they offer an extension head cable and the Leko/spotlight attachment pictured on their web site. The readout on the ballast is small but readable. The 'strap' for hanging the ballast on a stand is pretty small and lacking, but it'll do. The option of a clamp mount would be nice.The LED emitter has stripes of warm and cool, which could potentially result in odd light patterns under certain conditions, though I haven't witnessed this myself. Bi-color Aputure lights resolve this possible issue by using a random pattern of dots.Overall an inexpensive, small, and relatively light unit with ok build quality. Great for small and portable lighting kits, but lacking the battery capabilities and quality of some other higher end prosumer brands. Fills a nice niche. I'll be keeping mine.

Ho recentemente acquistato il Molus G300 della Zhiyun e ne sono estremamente soddisfatto. La qualità costruttiva e la cura nei dettagli sono impeccabili, con un design compatto e leggero che la rende facilmente trasportabile. Very nice light. Good color rendition, nice and bright. A few things...The suitcase is very nice but a waste. There is no way to re-use it because of the molded inside. If you don't carry the standard reflector the suitcase is worthless. Such a shame. It would have been a great multi purpose case if the inside was a bit more manageable. Same thing as with the gimbals.If you take the light without reflector the case could have been 50% smaller.Second thing, the power cord. It's made from some ultra cheap hard plastic material. I'm looking for a softer, more rubbery replacement.Good things? Yes! There are plenty. The light is ultra small en feels good for the price. In rental it will break in two weeks but for my own studio this is sturdy enough. Fan noise is good, not loud. At turbo 300W mode the fan is 2x as loud though. Not suited for some close to mics recordings without ai hum removal. The light worked for an hour in turbo mode and I found no problems in two shoots I did with it.No regrets. Will buy a second one when the price drops a bit.
