Update!! The company has replaced my leaking unit. In under 3 business days!! This is some seriously good service. Also this truly works my co-worker was fighting with a green pool for months (TX) he got an ionizer and saw results that same week.This thing works great. I hardly use any Algecide and way way less chlorine. However 2 months in and it’s full of water. Now I’m concerned the electrical parts inside will fail. And or it will sink. Is there a warranty for this? If it wasn’t for the leak long I would say 5 stars

Upgraded to 5 stars - Seller proactively contacted me and sent a new unit.Old Review~~~~~~~~~This unit stopped working and is filled with water. Didn't even last 6 months. Best to look elsewhere. The glue holding the solar panel section came undone and it looks like the water went in through the seams. The electronics look pretty well sealed, so I'm not sure why the unit isn't working unless the water caused a short in the solar panel and its wires to the electronics.

I should have known when there wasn't any light showing if it is active or not. Nice pool float, but that is it. Choose another brand.

The only other chemical you will need is chlorine tablets or liquid chlorine once weekly. I have saved myself so much money with this product. It works. They only last one summer in Arizona . But it’s worth it.

Revised 5/24/2024.After my poor review below I received an email from the seller the next day stating that they wanted to make things right and sent me a new ionizer in 2 days. I am happy to report that the new ionizer is working as it should. The original must have been a dud or damaged in transit. I am modifying my review to reflect the excellent customer service and I appreciate the way they have handled my complaint. Thank you!I bought this item in December '23 in preparation for summer when I needed it because it was a good deal compared to Remington or some of the other Solar Purifiers out there. Well, I broke it out of storage where it remained un opened until last week and now that I am past the return date, it doesn't work. This is my first purifier from Pipopa and my 4th Solar purifier over the last 6 years (they typically last a year or 2 and they work really well keeping the algae at bay when they are working).This one is just really cheap and I am sure the electrical connection inside has disconnected from the solar panel. Without that, this thing is useless. Avoid the disappoinment and spend the extra dough on a good one.

The good: definitely cut down on chlorine usage - test strips would read zero chlorine but pool remained crystal clear. Super easy to use, and came with cleaning supplies and an extra copper tube. The bad: when cleaning the unit your hands get a gross coppery penny smell that lasts for hours - combat this by cleaning with rubber gloves on. The bristle brush that is came with is garbage - lasted for about 3-4 cleanings before every single bristle had broken off. The main bad is that it STAINED our vinyl pool - there are copper marks all over the sides of the pool. We thought scrubbing it with our vinyl cleaner thing (dk blue rubbery material block from pool store would clean it - no. Neither did a MR Clean eraser. Poured some metal remover into pool and let it sit for several days without running pump to no avail. So far we haven't found a solution to remove the stains, but we've had this pool for 20 years and never had this problem until 2 months of using this product. Use caution if choosing one of these....I assume it is the product, not the specific brand, btw....

I’ve used one similar to this before and have been happy with the results, but this one is not working. The only difference with this one is the copper tube is smaller than what I previously got. Maybe I will try ordering another copper tube separately and see if it works.
