These are great and very handy-NOT, update
As I already have one of these sockets and a smart bulb, I couldn’t miss this lighting deal from Amazon. I also have eFamilycloud installed on my mobile so setting up is so easy. I did have a quick look at the instructions and they seemed to be fairly accurate so if you follow them you should have these sockets setup with no hassle. Once the software is installed and registered it is simplicity itself to add more devices. It is so good to be able to switch on/off from anywhere especially if you have a memory like mine and your well away from home when you remember that you have left some light or appliance on. The app also allows timed on/off, countdown and switching when you leave or arrive home. So these well-built, neat sockets tick all the right boxes.Update April 4thAs stated I purchased these on a Lightning Deal, I tested them and then left them aside until I had time to reorganise my power strip. This I completed three days ago. Last night I turned off both sockets, this morning after switching one on, I couldn’t turn it off. I plugged my laptop into the other one…..same result. This model has a real problem with its relay avoid like the plague and I do apologise to anyone who bought on the strength of my review. Why does a smart socket have to utilise a relay when a Smart Bulb fairly obviously uses the electric equivalent, i.e. SCRs or Triacs which have been around for years.

Frustrating
I dived into the smart-home idea with Google Home/Assistant and box-full of these 'smart sockets. When they work they are great... but they don't work all the time. I started out with these sockets about 18 months ago and from the outset I have experienced random drop-outs from random sockets requiring tiresome resets time and time again. Today two from eleven decided not to play. The big difference this time is that they will simply not re-connect. As a troubleshooting exercise I intentionally disconnected a third socket which then also refused to reconnect. Then a fourth etc etc. I know my wi-fi is working as other 2.4Mhz devices are functioning as they should. I suspect the problem is actually with the 'app' (Smart Life) that is required to interface with the sockets. I also have a suspicion that every time the app updated there was a correlation with the drop-outs. The app itself is far from intuitive in use and trying to contact or get sense out of the developers is a direct route to insanity. Definitely not an enjoyable experience.

Instant response smart plugs
I have been impressed with these WIFI smart plugs so far. The item came packaged well and feels build to last. This is further emphasised by the 1 year warranty provided with the product.Having never used smart plugs before, I was quite excited with this purchase and I wasn't left disappointed. This is such a simple way of making your home 'smarter'. I use these plugs for a lamp and a fan heater in my kitchen. The lamp is mainly so I can switch it on during the date when I am not home to deter thieves away. The fan heater is because my kitchen takes ages to warm up. With these smart plugs I can control both devices despite not being at home. It means in the morning I can heat up the kitchen before getting out of bed which makes all the difference. You can even set timers via the app so the plugs switch on and off your devices automatically at certain times.Setup was very easy. Install the eFamilyCloud app or use Amazon Alexa, Google Home etc. Plug your device into the smart plug and into the wall socket and switch it on. Via the app you make an account and sync with the smart plug (make sure you are on 2.4 GHz WIFI frequency). Then you are good to go. I was amazed how quickly the plugs respond when switching the devices on and off from the app. It is almost instant with no delay. The only flaw with this product is that it is very stiff to plug your device into the smart plug, which can make inserting and removing it a bit of a pain if you want to use it on other devices.Despite this I an enjoying this product and find it hard to fault. Time will tell how good these smart plugs are, but for the time being I am pleased with this purchase.

Absolutely amazing smart plugs!
I purchased these smart plugs with the idea of turning my home into a 'smart home' and I must say these really do the job! They were simple to install and I had them connected to my home WiFi in no time. I was then able to pair them with Alexa or Google (I'm an android kinda guy, no Apple here) and bind voice commands to them such as 'Alexa, turn on the bedroom light' or 'Alexa, turn off the TV'. They work fantastically and I will definitely be purchasing more in the future!

Magic
Now, this is impressive and keenly priced. The instructions were good but I got my son to set it up for me and he didn't seem to struggle. It works every time with my Echo Spot. My plug is used for a standard light at the side of my favourite chair and it switches on and off easily with my voice. You need to say "Alexa, switch off (or on) the light" and it does it with a confirmation word, "okay" from Alexa.I showed a three year old son of a friend this thing in action and he thinks it's magic. He's wondering why the television doesn't do the same and change channel to the cartoons he likes.*** Update ***Unfortunately, mine stopped working after a few months. I have to say, the seller was great and made a few suggestions to get it working again, but it was dead. I received a new one and it worked brilliantly. It's unfortunate when things go wrong, but top marks to the seller in trying to fix it and providing a new one. I still love this device.

utter junk
I've spent an hour with this badly designed junk. So you need (sigh) yet another app. The app is buggy. It does not find my device because it doesn't work with 5GHz wifi. Ok. So I change to 2.4. The app still can't find the device. When I try to link Alexa, the page does not find the account I created with the app. I'm done with this garbage, returning it to Amazon.
