Economics of Volume Packaging
I'm doing extensive cabinet work at home and have an irrational abhorrence to plastic debris that is today's retail experience. I'm also not a big fan of paying for said plastic packaging versus the actual product that I'm interesting in buying - Kreg screws in this case.Below is the fee schedule from Amazon as of 12/31/19 for #8 1 1/4" coarse washer head zinc coated Kreg screws - the 100ea package isn't listed on Amazon, so used a local home builder store for reference. I'm not interested in experimenting with non-Kreg fasteners, so all of the price points are for original Kreg products. 100ea = $ 4.77 = $0.0477 250ea = $10.97 = $0.04388 500ea = $19.49 = $0.038981200ea = $30.99 = $0.025835000ea = $82.70 = $0.01654Now, most people won't predict they'll ever use 5K screws, come on, unless you're a professional cabinet maker (or have a screw fetish), who's gonna need that many screws? That might be true, but I'd have to ask why in the world buy a Kreg jig if you're only ever planning on using one or two boxes of screws? Might as well just go to IKEA - gasp!Assuming the 500ea package is the most common purchase decision, in comparison you get 2,878 'free' screws by buying in bulk versus chunks of 500ea at a time. Conversely, you'd pay out (over time) $194.90 for the same number of screws buying in 500ea increments. If you're a pocket-hole cabinet building fanatic as I find myself, do yourself a big favor and buy the 5K pack... yea, it stings at first chunking down that kind of cash on lowly screws, but you'll feel soooo much better when that hefty box shows up at your door step and you open it up to gaze upon an innumerable treasure (well, I'm guessing 5,000 screws) of glistening Kreg goodness to satisfy your fastening addiction with sheer abandon. If you're just a bit more sane than the author, the 1,200 option is a pretty good entry point too.

Save yourself some money...
Last couple years I've really gotten back into woodworking and I have been using pocket holes and glue for so many builds. Easier way to build things with plywood. I've built so many things with pocket holes including a new pantry, big craft cabinet for my wife, even an assembly table for my shop.Since I do so many pocket holes and I build most everything out of 3/4" material, I go through alot of 1-1/4" screws. Getting tired of paying so much more at the local HD and the last time they were out, argh. So buying in bulk like this is the way to go.Do the math yourself, you save a TON buying a box like this. Also helps you are not paying for plastic cases. These shipped and arrived very fast and packaged well. Could not be happier. My wife doesn't get it, but I am happy.

Great price with quality
I purchase the big bulk size of these for all of the sizes 3/4 - 2.5” and never disappointed. I have a wood shop so I prob go through a 5000 box size once a year. Haven’t found any mass defects etc. even if you don’t use the volume, it’s cheap enough to get and last you a lifetime.

Good cheaper alternative if you use lots of screws.
First of all, the type of the screw in the box was not a combination of phillips and square drive screwsthat I have seen elsewhere. The combination screw head is not as sturdy as the single square drive. The unit with 5000 1-1/4 screw is the most economical way to go. The number of screws in the box, based onits weight easily exceeded 5000. You can buy 250 screws as 10$ or 5000 at 70$. There is no comparison. The screws are good tough quality screws unlike some wood screws which easily strips.

Kreg a lot? Best deal in town.
I am a contractor and I do a lot of built ins and do a bunch of pocket holes. These are by far the best way to purchase these screws if you do a lot of kregging.
