I would purchase again!
I purchased these pool stairs because of the price and reviews. They arrived in a large box with clear instructions for assembly. We put them together without any difficulty. I had read a review that gave the helpful hint of leaving the hand rail portion off while placing in our pool. And filling the stairs with water as it's settling down. We followed this advice and filled the stairs with a garden hose to increase the speed of decent. Once the stairs were on the mat (purchased separately). We added the hand rails and walked down the stairs to firmly seat all of the parts. We did use a mallet and protective wooden block to attach the "plugs" prior to submergeing in the pool. But that was the only tools we used into the whole assembly process. I did purchase "pool" weights (sold separately) but since filling the stairs with water I doubt we will need them. I am very pleased with this purchase and would purchase again.

Great product!
These steps, though the risers are still fairly tall, are much easier for me to get up and down than steep ladders. Sturdy and well-built. Easy to put together and attach to our pool deck. No problems with them floating once we put pea gravel into the sides.

Helpful hints for NO sand
Easy assembly. Chose not to use sand due to previous reviews. Helpful hints: leave hand rails off, flip the rest upside down in water and let steps fill with water instead then attach handrails. Also be aware that you will most likely need 2 blocks of wood to attach handrails to deck. Lastly you will still need approx 25 lbs of weight to hold steps down after installing. We used rubber hand weights and secured from the inside (so not visible).

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
These stairs are nice, if you don’t want to use them in your pool! We have tried everything and they won’t stop floating up. The handles are cheap and don’t lock in and pull up out of the holes! Zero stars, but I am forced to give them one star! Don’t waste your money or time!
