This was a medium to trickier than usual build. There are several similar pieces you could mix up with others, so watch out for that.I spent a A LOT of extra time picking/searching through parts so make sure you don't combine too much of the step 3 bags. I usually stage the small pieces in one bin/box and larger in another. That way I can put the set away during the build.The manuals is much longer than it needs to be, often with only 1-2 parts per page, and the "opposite side" builds could be easily eliminated IMO. I like to jump ahead and build both sides at the same time.I just wish the set was weighted and geared so it didn't tip over using the load/unload feature. If you "drive" the cab with the steering wheel, pulling it backwards (especially on medium carpet) has too much resistance and the wheel comes off. I'm tempted to glue it on. ;) The steering on the cab surprisingly tight.Tempted to by it again to build the other truck as others have. It is that good of a set IMO.

This is a pricey Lego, but my grandson has been building for years and needs the challenge. It is the largest Lego we have ever purchased ( 2600 pieces). This is not for a beginner or even intermediate builder- but it has an unbelievable wow factor. The details are amazing- even for an upscale Lego purchase. I believe a true collector's item.

This was an amazing project for my son to work on. He loves Legos and was able to finish this in about a month with some help. We enjoyed working on it together. It is expensive and can't be used after it is put together because some pieces fall off easily. Overall we liked the experience of putting it together and seeing the finished project!

Just finished building the Mack garbage dump truck and it's a terrific addition to my Lego Technic lineup. I purchased the product twice from Amazon in order to build both trucks.The garbage truck has terrific technic features including hydraulic (mechanical) lift of trash bins, opening back end, steering, moveable motor and compression system for the trash inside. I added sync windshield wipers and forward opening cabin doors. I followed the instructions from the Lego site since there is not a printed copy. There was some frustration with 2595 pieces since the bags were not numbered for construction (as is for the main model) and many, many little pieces. In the end, there was a lot left over. The online instructions didn't include the item sizes for easy identification and often the computer colors were a little off and made it a tad difficult to identify certain parts. But following instructions online was a refreshing change from the standard booklet and didn't take up space on my cluttered desk top.The Mack Dump Truck was one of my favorite Technic experiences and recommended for all ages (I'm 72).

This is my second Lego Technic set after the Air Race Jet. It was a great mix of system bricks with technic bricks. I appreciated the very detailed mechanisms such as the steering and engine. The set isn't powered, but I don't mind since I don't need 6 AA batteries to use the functions which is nice. I took about 8 hours to build the set in one sitting. I'm looking forward to trying the B model out soon.

This was a really fun kit to build, with many technic functions. Steering, outriggers, and container cranes are functional. Took about 6 hours over several evenings to build. Looks great.

Awesome build for our son for Christmas!!! He loves it. He was disappointed when it was missing two pieces in the first bag. Lego sent the pieces, which took about two weeks to receive. Other than that it is was an awesome and challenging build for our 12 year old.

Bought this for my wife (she's the mechanical engineering type) and she loves it. Took her about 2 days to put it together working 6-8 hrs on it each day during the holidays. The instructions are clear and there are a TON of parts. But everytime someone comes to the house they can't help but touch and play with it. Wish there was an LED kit for it.

This is an absolutely beautiful truck. It is a nice challenge to build for adults but certainly not younger children without help. It took me about 6 hours to build and with the bags all numbered you only need to manage so many of the pieces at a time which is very helpful. The B model is also a beautiful truck and a nice build on fact I bought 2 kits because the B model is that good it could be an A model itself. The down side is the instructions must be downloaded from Lego but that's no biggie however.....the numbered bags mean absolutely nothing so for this build you have to open pretty much all the bags right away except the last couple ( these are for the container and are mostly white). I would highly recommend this kit for an enthusiast even though there are no provisions for PF

I got this kit for me and my 10-year-old son to do together. I have not been disappointed. This is one of the best lego sets we have ever done together. Delivery was quick and the product was exactly what I had ordered. The box was a little damaged but the contents were fine. My son loves this kit. I want to add my company logo to the truck and put it on my desk at work. Not sure my son will let me.
