The Freedom Card Deck Expansion adds 18 cards, including Abolitionist, Opposition, and Reserve Cards. The Abolitionist Cards add resolutions and supporters of the Movement for all three eras of the game, including Josiah Henson, Thomas Garrett, Anna Elizabeth Dickinson, John Parker Hale, Robert Purvis, and more. The Opposition Cards show enacted laws and regulations which helped slave States and were blows against the Abolitionist Movement. These include the Fugitive Slave Act, U.S. Marshals, and more. Finally, the Reserve Cards add pro-Abolitionist groups and ideas such as The Quakers, the Personal Liberty Laws, the Principles of '98, and more.

This is an expansion deck to easily our favorite, cooperative board-game. The prime reason for our admiration, is the historic tapestry that the game illuminates, and this expansion deck adds to that weave.Each card in the expansion set represents a historic figure or factoid of the Underground Railroad milieu.As in other cooperative games (and RPG's) the expansion cards simply add to the deck that generates the random events with which the players must cope, and as every card in the deck does, every card at least inspires consultation with the corresponding encyclopedia (or wikipedia) entry, as well as, of course adding more genre flavor and interesting wrinkles to the play.
