Chances Are These Songs Are Now Quite Silly
I was only 19 when Johnny Mathis hit the charts big-time. His voice was (and still is) magic. His style perfectly matched his material of the time. The songs were sweet and romantic when the transition to something much rougher and tougher was just around the corner. Today, the sweet sound seems strange, and the romance in his music a tad too sugary for my taste -- which surprised me very much when I first played these recordings. I believe that his voice would work with songs not quite so impossibly silly. Chances are I am quite wrong about this. Or just too old to remember what it was like 60 years ago. The quality of these recordings is quite impressive, however, and I'm glad I bought them.

It's Wonderful, Wonderful
It is a wonderful collection of Johnny Mathis's music. It takes you back in time. Such a crooner.His music was special to my generation. We danced to him, we fell in love with him and we willalways remember him. The CD is great.

Wow..I remembered most of the songs word for word from my childhood. My mom loved JM. She would play his albums all the time. That is why I purchased this CD. Singing the songs on my way to work. Thanks..

All to like ..his inimitable vocal phrasings and timing.Will always prefer original length versions….Impossible to compile any Best Of for JM as his voice alone uplifts even the most mundane songs/lyrics…Why is full/short length version <<Life Is A Song Worth Singing >> virtually not included in any compilations?

Great singer but some songs not well known..
Well recorded but some of the songs are not up with his best.

Great tracks but would be better if in Stereo.
I bought this album because I wanted some of the old singles on CD. However my disappointment was that this is not a stereo! ( I much prefer the sound ) . I would have sent it back for a refund bar the fact that I wanted the singles for my collection. If your happy with mono its ok. I would have given 5 stars if it was in stereo.
