Fantasy Wizard

I learned this game while friends from Germany were visiting, 15 years ago. The cards purchased here are very good quality cards and I recommend them to anyone. I have one of these decks that I have been using for over 10 years. Comes with a scorecard and instructions in both English and German. Easy to learn, but requires very strategic skills to be competitive. Progressive game for 3-6 players, all playing individually. (no partnerships) You will love it.

I first played this game with some of my extended family: it was easy to pick up (though that may have been because I’ve played hearts and euchre before), and a lot of fun! My younger cousins were able to do a good job, but plenty of strategy to the game too. It’s an inexpensive but thoughtful gift for any game-lover.

So much fun it is addicting. Just wish the name was different, because it has really nothing to do with Wizards other than the pictures on the cards, but whatever, I love this game and tell everyone about it. Makes a great gift too, especially to families or groups of friends.

Once you get the hang of how score is kept, this is a very fun bluffing game with some hilariously strange artwork on the cards. Each game can take upwards of 30 mins to play, but with a fun group we often play several times.

My 12 year old son, who also loves Catan and Chess, learned to play this at a friend's house and persisted for a couple of months of reminding me about it until we got around to ordering him his own set. It's a little complicated to follow initially, I thought (I'm more of an UNO/Clue/don't have to think about it too much gal), but if you have someone to walk you through it at first, it can be kind of fun. After a couple of times, I had the hang or it enough to beat my son at it - there's enough going on, luck, strategy, ability to predict correctly, etc. that you don't have to rely on pure strategy alone. My husband seems to enjoy it, too. The game seems to have German origins, so instead of W for Wizard and J for Jester, it's Z for Zauberer and N for Narr, which is a bit unfortunate, because it makes the N and Z cards a little closer in appearance that my brain likes. Think it's a good option to round out a game-loving family's collection. Wonderfully portable, too. My son is planning to take it to summer camp with him next week.

My brother and his German wife introduced us to this game and it was very entertaining! It takes a little bit to get the strategy down but it's not a difficult game. I'd recommend this version because of the *start sarcasm* beautiful *end sarcasm* artwork - part of the game's charm.

My son had played this at a friend's house and wanted us to experience the game. It is quite a bit of fun. It's a card game and includes score cards for up to 6 players. Tokens to mark the 'predictions' aren't included, which is fine since they aren't necessary but the directions do suggest having them for easier play...and if they are suggested, shouldn't they be included? But we used pennies, and those work fine. The directions are straight forward and not difficult to understand. There are several variation ideas also included to ensure many hours of playing fun. We did find that one circumstance was not explained in the directions, though, (what to do when two or more players play the same winning cards?). Still, a decision on our part cured this problem. The game took 4 players around 45 mins to an hour. When we have game nights, we only play it once...where there are a few games we play 2 or 3 times. But that's mostly due to the length. The game itself is fun and includes as much luck as planning. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the missing tokens and neglect to mention some obvious situations in the directions.

Super fun game that is not as hard as it looks, but if you are buying this for first time playing do note it is really hard to figure out at first!!

La verdad, no solo el juego en sí me parece divertido para pasar una buena tarde entre amigos, sino que temía por el envío y me sorprendió. Todo estaba en muy buen estado, el empaquetado era resistente y presentable, además de adjuntar algún detallito como regalo. Por eso, recomiendo este juego a todo aquel que esté interesado, no solo por el bajo precio, sino por que le llegará en el tiempo estimado y en buenas condiciones a pesar del trato que pueda tener por parte de los repartidores de tu ciudad.

Très très bon jeu. De toute ma ludothèque, c'est celui dont je me lasse le moins. Si je ne devais en garder qu'un ce serait celui-là!

What a fantastic game! It's our pub night game and it's great fun, easy to play and it gets very competitive when everyone it trying to sneak each others trumps. I can really recommend it. I bought it after a fun night of playing this at a friend's. It also makes a brilliant little present.
