I love sweet temptation
This might not be as descriptive as all the previous books but to hear it from Kaiden's point of view is amazing. Love him.

Awesome Read! Kai is Extra-T Worthy.
So here's the dealio: I LUV Kaidan Rowe. I mean, come on, he's Extra-T worthy and then some. I was so excited for this book and in the main I really enjoyed it.This is exactly as Wendy says - a retelling of the Sweet Trilogy from Kaidan's perspective. Still, I thought we might have gotten more of an insight into his character and meatier scenes depicting what he was up to during the lengthy periods when he was apart from Anna. We got some, but I felt more character development was in order.Kaidan has been largely ignoring his unhappiness until Anna shows up and he starts to think more reflectively about his life. She brings out the best in him and makes him want to be a better person/Neph. He has a good heart underneath and he just wants to be loved. He hated how he was entangled with Marissa and his dad and the sex slavery business, and it was great that he got to do something about it at the end. He does have a moral compass despite his upbringing. There are plenty of sexy times in this book and it was fun being in his head. He's more than just your typical sex-obsessed teenage boy and there were plenty of cheeky, LOL moments. And of course, all my fav dialogue and funny one-liners are repeated here too. I love all his British slang and Wendy nailed it perfectly.I was pissed at Belial in the initial series over how he tried to separate Anna and Kai. It never felt natural to me given his forbidden relationship with Mariantha. Having read the scene where he warned Kaidan off, I now hate him even more. Overprotective dad or what?At times, it felt like I was pressing the fast-forward button on my DVD - it jumped around in a jerky fashion, and it pulled me out of the story. It reminded me a bit of those Team Edward/Team Jacob clips on the Twilight DVDs - you know where it just fast forwards to all their scenes? There were parts of Sweet Temptation that felt exactly like that to me.All in all, though it's a very good read, and essential if you are a fan of the Sweet Trilogy. You won't be disappointed.

I Sigh for Kai!
I call this book Kaidan is Sexy because Sweet Temptation does it no justice. It is always interesting to see the other side of stories. In the vein of Jamie McGuire's Walking Disaster, or Christine Zoldenz's Scars and Songs, Wendy Higgins has given us the guy perspective of her series. Sometimes, like in the instance of Travis Maddox, it is very hard to reconcile the guy the heroine saw and fell in love with and the dude in his own book. Travis is not charming in Walking Disaster, he's rather skeevy. I couldn't like him as he was in his own tale; although it was a perfect example of TWO accounts being told of one story. But Kaidan Rowe is relatable and easy to love in Sweet Temptation as he was to Anna. His weaknesses and darkness becomes apparent while keeping him palatable, and desirable even. I am still in love with this lust puppy after seeing the world through his eyes.Kaidan is Sexy starts out at a different point than Anna's story; it gives clear view of Kaidan's life and unhappiness. He is empty and on auto-pilot, life is happening to him and he's powerless to do anything about it because he's owned body and soul. The removal he feels from the physical act of passion makes him feel meaningless, it is his job not something he feels for his own. When he sees Anna he is confused and paranoid because the many machinations of the Dukes, his father in particularly; he is used to being tested and watched. Kaidan sees an anomaly like Anna with a fair amount of skepticism. However this innocent girl kicks starts a curiosity that fuels him like nothing before, not even music has moved him in such a way. He can't let her go, and yet he doesn't want anything to do with her. The conflict within Kaidan is expertly handled and you feel for him. You can identify with what is in his heart. As a matter of fact, I adored the fact that the struggles and realities in this were realistically framed in a way other novels with this sort of POV swap have failed. The sensibility of the characters emotions and frame of situations is on firm foundation. The structure of the story remains the same, it's not an alternate perception, it expands on the overall arc. Sweet Temptation is a compact telling of all three novels of Anna's adventure. What makes this work successfully isn't necessarily the insight into Kai's journey, but rather how well Wendy knows all of her characters. It serves the narrative that she is giving the in depth background regarding all the Nephilim friends and Dukes. It is the richness of all the interactions and her own understanding of her cast that gives clarity to the reader. Anna's view of the nephilim and Kaidan's growing up with them show the fullness of the author's background knowledge of all those characters she writes. Anna sees nothing but hope and love because of who she is. Kaidan sees things more darkly, he's grown up in the dark world of the Duke's. He's fatalistic because he has never considered anything other than what his life is. There has never been innocence in his life until Anna. Wendy is approaching those realities individually for the best storycrafting.Another item that is better understood in Sweet Temptation is the passage in time. With the separation of the series from book to book it's easy to forget that years are passing. Since Sweet Temptation is condensed telling of the three books it's easy to understand the full scope of events. I became very aware that Anna was no longer a young girl and had grown into a woman in this novel. It also helped to see Kai's view of her as she transitioned from not knowing what and who she was to the woman who sent the Dukes to hell.Is there any issue? One, and it shows my age. Through most of the book Kaidan "can't even". My sister says it all the time too and she is nineteen. I "can always" so "can't even" becomes really apparent to me. Regardless of my itchiness there the teen speak makes it a lot more identifiable to younger readers. Especially those who also "can't even".NOTE: YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO READ THE SERIES IN ORDER. Skipping ahead will not have the impact the entire telling will.

Kaidan!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! So glad this book was released!
First of all I want to point out that I almost didn't buy Sweet Temptation because I hate it when books are released one year from now... I hate waiting that long. But it was so worth it!!!!!!!!!This book in Kaidan's POV helped me understand him in all those situations in which I called him an arse. I wanted to hit him so many times whilst reading the Sweet Evil series (1-3), sometimes I just wanted Anna to move on and find someone who was worthy of her love, who WANTED her love and who deserved it - but this book made me realise that Kaidan was worthy of her love.He suffered so much from moving to LA, away from Anna. I couldn't believe what Belial had said to him after that New Year's accident... that was beyond cruel. And seeing as Kaidan already didn't think very highly of himself, hearing those words from her father sealed the deal for him, convinced him that he didn't deserve to be with her, those harsh words confirmed his suspicions so he didn't see any other way out of that mess. But he missed her so damn much... It made me love him when I read about how he thought about her all the time, he wanted to be with her so bad, but he was always aware of the potent danger of getting themselves killed if they were to be seen together. What I didn't really grasp was the change in his mind - when he went from "No, I don't wanna get you killed" to "I can't do this anymore, I wanna be your boyfriend" - that should have been explained a little better because it just happened in a nano second and I didn't understand what made him change his mind all of a sudden.Also... Anna had every right to kiss Kopano after Kaidan gave him the green light to go after Anna - who should have known that he didn't really mean it? Words are so powerful and I understood Anna's pain and then there is this gentleman-guy who seems to be genuinely interested in you and after getting hurt like that, she seeked comfort...But I truly hated how far Kaidan had gone to drown his pain after hearing about their kiss. This stupid "Anna-copy-chick"? I despised her and his actions...To be honest, if I had been in Anna's shoes, I wouldn't have pursued Kaidan for so long... he hurt her way too many times. I would have moved on... so that is one thing I don't like about the series. To see how many times he was rude to her, drove her away from him but still pined for her in secret... Why did he expect her to love him all this time when all he did was hurt her every time he was near her? It still pisses me off...Sweet Temptation made many situations "better" - because you finally know why he said those words or why he acted that way... it was really helpful, though I think the ending chapter contained too much "shagging Anna everywhere"...Also I never liked the part where Anna is forced to marry and lose her virginity... Kaidan's reaction hurt like hell and it really took away the romance from the entire situation... his proposal afterwards didn't come across as if he truly wanted to marry her... that was quite sad.So yep... really enjoyed Sweet Temptation. Still don't understand some of his actions, but I feel more... at peace... after reading their love story in his POV. I strongly recommend reading this book!
