Not too rough; good size
*Update over 2 months later.*I'm still using the same two washcloths. I haven't needed to replace either with the third one yet. Seems like I'll be able to get more use out of these two before I reach that point. I just wanted to note, I got lazy with how I cleaned the washcloths. I started alternating my use of the washcloths about every 1-2 wks. (I use one continously for 1-2 wks, while the other one is dried and left to hang from a towel hook outside of my shower (or sometimes it gets folded and stored in a cabinet within my bathroom). The one that's in use remains in my shower during the entire period, simply hanging from a hook to dry between uses. I ran out of the antimicrobial cleanser and felt it was too expensive to buy more. So, I just started making sure to rinse these cloths THOROUGHLY in HOT water AFTER EACH USE. I continued to WRING THEM OUT BEFORE HANGING THEM TO DRY, and this has not caused them to wear out in any noticable way. I still OCCASSIONALLY handwash the washcloths (every 3-5 days)... just using bodywash, body soap, or liquid hand soap and hot water. It takes me about 2-3 minutes. I either do it while I'm still in the shower or at the bathroom sink whenever I feel like it. I never leave the clothes pressed against or sitting on a hard surface when they're still wet or even damp. They air dry very well when hung. I still have not had any issues with mold or mildew. (I keep my bathroom & shower clean, but it does have poor air flow. So, I'm always on the look out for mold.) These washcloths are still very effective after several months. They're very easy to maintain.*Original review below.*I was looking for a double-sided exfoliating washcloth to use on my body, similar to the tiny little round pad I use for washing my face. However, I wanted something smaller and thinner than the size of a standard washcloth. This product was close to perfect for me. (Personally, I would've liked it to be about 1.5 inches smaller on all sides because I'm pretty thin... and more cloth equates to a longer drying time, which increases the chances of accruing mildew/mold. But this product is smaller than most washcloths, and it's a good size for almost all adult body sizes. So, I really can't knock any stars for it not being "perfect" for my size.)Overall verdict (more details below, if interested): I'm very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend these washcloths for anyone looking for the same kind of product. It has not accumulated mildew/mold after 1.5 wks of continuous use. It's simple to keep clean. The exfoliating side is not too rough to use all over your body. In fact, it's comparable to the tiny round, beige cloths I buy for my face (they're the store brand kinds from Rite Aid). The soft side is very soft, but not plush. It's thin, which makes it quicker to dry than a normal washcloth with average thickness. Regardless, it maintains a very good lather and is easy to fully rinse out. The stitching is sturdy, and I'm not worried about it unraveling at any point any time soon. The stitching across the middle of the washcloth prevents the opposite sides from shifting as you wash yourself. It has a long strap sewn onto it, which allows for large hands/wrists to fit thru (see photos to get an idea if your hand would fit thru). The strap is also great for hanging it to dry and organize in your shower/bathroom.More details: So far, I've used two of the washcloths. I used one daily for about 1.5 wks, just to see how it would hold up. I also used a second one for about 5 days now just to see if there were any differences in quality, durability, performance, etc. I haven't noticed a difference between the two, so I would say the overall construction and performance is consistent. (You get 3 washcloths per pack.)Exfoliating side: As mentioned, the exfoliating side is comparable to the tiny, round reusable face cloths that you can find in pretty much any drugstore or Walmart. I think the exfoliating performance of this washcloth can be gentler or harsher, though. It all depends on how much soap you've lathered on and how much pressure you apply. The construction/texture of the exfoliating side gives you a lot of control. It's made of a tight weave of thick synthetic "threads." I like this texture better than the cloths that use the "knitted net" for exfoliating. For those who are looking for a really rough, deep skin exfoliating cloth, I'd recommend trying the thin mitts that are usually sold by Korean brands. I use those on occassion, but this washcloth is ideal for daily use. *I saw some reviewers mention they would not use it on their "delicate parts," but I use it to help exfoliate my bikini line and such without discomfort. I guess it all depends on how sensitive your skin is. (My skin is very sensitive to chemicals, prone to eczema and dryness, etc. Also, keep in mind, you have to allow your skin to adjust when you first start using any kind of physical exfoliant... whether it be a body scrub soap/paste, brush, cloth, etc.) Like I said, this washcloth allows you a good amount of control over how exfoliating you want it to be. One last thing... I have not noticed any scratchy fibers sticking out so as to cause any amount of abrasions to my skin whatsoever. (I've had this issue happen with other cloths and those hard natural loofahs. Some actually left scratches that bled.)Soft side: The soft side of the washcloth is very silky feeling, but it's far from feeling plush. It's very thin, but not scratchy at all. If you want something more "fluffy" or the slightest bit sponge-like, then this is probably not the product for you. Still, it is silky soft. And it helps to fold or roll up the washcloth for a more "pillowy" feel. Both sides hold a soapy lather really well. I've used it with both bar soap and Cetaphil Ultra Gentle Body Cleanser (a very gentle bodywash that doesn't produce nearly as much suds as a typical bodywash).Cleaning & drying: The product description online says you can launder these washcloths in a washing machine. There's a link for a user manual printed on the box, but I haven't bothered to check it out. I'm sure you could throw these in the washing machine with hot water; although, you'd want to take precautions so it doesn't rough up any other items you're washing it with. I ran these washcloths under VERY hot water prior to using (I had to wear dish gloves because the water was so hot). However, I'm not sure I'd trust them on high heat in a dryer. After all, the exfoliating side is made of synthetic material. I'd be concerned about the fibers melting or degrading over time - potentially causing them to snap and scratch your skin. I've kept mine clean by rinsing them well, in hot water, after each use. Then I wring them out tight. (I'm not sure if that's good practice, but it hasn't damaged the washcloths so far.) Then I just hang them off a hook in my shower (a few inches away from the shower wall) to dry. Since they're thin, they dry quick enough in my poorly ventilated bathroom so as not to develop mildew or smells. After 2-4 uses, I suds the washcloths with Hebicleans (an anti-microbial wash, usually meant for medical use or wound care) for a few minutes before rinsing, wringing, and hang drying. I tried hand-washing with laundry detergent, but it was too much of a hassle. I don't want to keep extra products in my bathroom, and I didn't feel like running to get laundry detergent every few days. Either method of washing seemed to get the job done, but I felt more comfortable using the Hebicleans since it's an anti-microbial wash. (I don't know if that's what has actually helped to keep any mildew/mold at bay, but I'm going to continue this method until I run out of the stuff. I'll update my review if I find that the washcloths are otherwise prone to mildew/mold.)

The best exfoliating washcloth
Honestly a perfect washcloth. The rough side feels just as exfoliating as a sugar scrub, and much better than any loofah or plastic/silicone scrubber. Thanks to this I only need to use soap and not a separate exfoliating scrub. The cloth doesn’t bunch up thanks to the knitted X in the middle of it. It also doesn’t slip out of my hand, so I don’t even need to use the loop handle unless I’m hanging it to dry.The soft side is super soft, even when wet. And it overall holds onto soap very well. Also rinses quickly after you’re done.So glad it comes with 3 so that I have one for travel. Hoping the rough side doesn’t wear down since it’s the only side I’ll be using. Will update if it does.If you’re one of those people who like to scrub hard and really exfoliate, this is the washcloth for you.

Pretty nice so far
I needed a washcloth with a loop on it to hang on a shower wall mounted soap/shampoo holder and came across these. I've never had this type with 2 sides for both washing and exfoliating so figured I'd give them a try. So far I'm pretty happy with them for the price and quality so far. The exfoliating side isn't to rough and feels good and the same with the soft side. I can see where other reviewers appreciated the stitching between the sides so they stay together. The only thing I would like to see is maybe the softer washcloth side be a little thicker and the washcloth itself a little bit bigger. But that's not a deal breaker for me. If they hold up , I'll definitely be happy with purchase .

Perfect for Deployment! Driest Fast.
I bought these for deployment on a US carrier; these worked well and dried rapidly. I used one for almost 5 months, and it didn't build up a smell. I like how one side is soft and the other is coarse for scrubbing. I mainly wanted a washcloth that dried fast and had a scrubbing side, and this was perfect.

Very good...not too abrasive and not too smooth
These work well for the price. They (haven't yet) fallen apart and wash out pretty well. Great for travel and home. They exfoliate without ripping skin off you body and aren't too smooth. The cotton side is ok, but since the 2 sides aren't 'bonded' it flops all over the place. Just use these to exfoliate.

Awesome
I am picky about what I wash myself with and need something that can lather me well and as a guy who is active both indoors and outdoors, I need that extra scrub that silicone loofas just cannot accomplish. I have been using a natural loofah product until I decided they are getting too expensive for something that lasts only about a month before it starts to smell. This was it. They are washable, maintain their texture after the wash and after a month of use, have not had the cloth rip either. Hopefully they last close to a year before I might need to buy another set

Quality Item
Love the dual sides.

Too Stiff
I thought this would be typical washcloth on one side and scrubby soft enough for most of the body, on the other. This is not the case. One side is scrubby like a green brillo pad, the other is soft but too thin. The scrubby side is only comfortable to use on my feet.
