Tala Performance 12 Cup Madeleine Shell Cake Pan, Professional Gauge Carbon Steel with Eclipse Premium Non-Stick Coating, 39.8x19.8x1.5 cm

A 40cm tray ought to fit in the oven of my slender (50cm) cooker, woudn't you think? Well no - it was just too wide to rest on one of the shelves! Luckily though, it slid neatly into the shelf slots as if it were a shelf in its own right, so on the day it was delivered I went ahead and prepared the mixture for my madeleines. It's a heavy, solid tray. It doesn't bend or flex in the oven, and it produces perfectly risen and browned madeleines after ten minutes cooking. I've used it a couple of times already, and I'm delighted with the results. The non-stick coating works well. If the tray is properly buttered and floured first, and the madeleines are left to cool for about three minutes, they release themselves perfectly. I love this tray.

Worked great for creating a disco ball birthday cake. Took ages to bake due to the shape and quantity of batter but the tin itself was non stick and very easy to clean. Happy to have added it to my baking drawer. Doesn’t come with a stand of any kind but was fine directly on the oven shelf and didn’t wobble at all.

I've had a notion to make Madelaines for a while and found a Slimming World friendly one on their app. However, after accidentally switching to BBC the other day, I caught the tail end of Nadia's cooking programme and she was baking treacle and star anise ones, so I took this as a sign and having read the reviews, opted for this tin. It's extremely sturdy and quite heavy but in a good way. Made my first batch today (as shown) and it only needed a light greasing and they popped out nice and easily. Cleaned well in soapy water. Very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend.

Nice heavy duty madeleine pan, maybe a little too shallow for the perfect bump but overall pretty good, easy to clean.

Very nice but i expected smaller for one bites.

Seems to be a very solid tray. I haven't used it yet so can't comment on that. Will update after a couple of uses.

I was pleasantly surprised at the weight of this tin, it feels well made and long lasting. I greased it before use and it was easy to get the cakes out. At £6 it was a bargain!

Pan is super sturdy and heavy weight - the box was totally crushed since they didn't use any packaging material inside the box, and the pan survived! Fortunately the non-stick coating was not scratched at all. Looking forward to using the pan - company should consider using packing material for it.
