Extremely impressed, but needs a few tweaks.
Extremely impressed with this knife!I bought it for my girlfriend to carry for self defense. I like the small size, and the ring in the handle will prevent her from being disarmed in a bad situation. She's felt uneasy with the state of the world and all the chaos going on. It's forced her to want to stay home more than go out and explore on her days off without me due to the feeling of helplessness. And that's causing its own problems. She cats cabin fever like nobody I've ever known. It's scary! = 🦁Hopefully this gives her some confidence. She really needs her carry permit... 🙄Anyway, the clip on here sucks. Like really sucks. The strength of it is fine, but the way they shaped the bottom of it is useless. It's angled about 45 degrees instead of being a 90 degree bend, so it pulls right off when you try to draw it. She doesn't wear belts often, so I knew I'd be modifying it in some way anyway. I tried to bend it to work, but the retention on the blade is better than anything I could do to resolve the issue with this clip. I had a Cold Steel drop forged push dagger that came with an Ulti Clip which I removed because I tied it to my plate carrier. I modified that Ulti Clip to fit this sheath and now she can wear it on basically any pair of pants or attached to her pocket and draw the blade without the sheath following the pull.I knew it would need to be as comfortable as possible for her want to wear it daily, so I took some 1/8" adhesive backed neoprene padding that I've used for various projects (like cheek rests and such), and I placed some on the back which rests against the body. Now it's a pretty damn good EDC set-up.The blade itself is really damn sharp. I mean Really Sharp. Slices paper with ease. I'm a little worried she'll cut herself, but I'd rather it be that sharp if she needs to use it.The shape and contour is spot on, and all the edges are perfectly smoothed into each transition. It feels like silk in the hand. No hard edges or spots that rub weird. It's extremely comfortable. It took me by surprise so much so, that I ordered one for myself. I got the Damascus version though 😎Hope she doesn't see mine when it arrives, because I know she'll try to trade me for it!

Great value, well made, and super sharp
This is my first karambit. It's very cool to have a 2-edged knife (that you can spin around!). This is, also, the first time to have a blade with DC53. It "feels" like D2 and has a great edge. Time will tell how long the blade will stay sharp. It would be nice to slice up a pig carcass to test its self-defense prowess. All the reviews say it's super strong, and I agree. If you are carrying this karambit for self-defense, you will have a weapon that is like a laser. Stitches are guaranteed. The bevel was a little toothy but very sharp. I stropped it up, but DC53 is strong and it will take a little more time to the mirror edge that I like. But, I'm not complaining about the keenness of the edge. The karambit feels nice in your hands. I have thick hands from laying bricks for a couple of years. The ring isn't too small or too large. As a self-defense weapon, I'd feel with my pinkie inside the ring, body in my palm, and thumb on the jimping. The blade isn't going to slide back to the fingers. I'm a first-second karambit user and practiced spinning it. It's balanced.Masalong's design is a great idea. If you are shopping for a karambit, looking a the Giant Bee should be checked out.

Sharp stinger, crap sheath
Personally the dimensions of this karambit are perfect for my hands. The blade size and shape are great- not having the overly long hooked type that have a tendency to get hung up on your opponent unless you utilize some seriously contorted wrist positions when striking. The little peak on the backside of the blade gives you some serious slicing leverage on the pull. Nice weight, decent steel, great design. Too bad the sheath doesnt retain it for shit. Every position I've tried has been a fail for actual edc. Theres just not enough tension on the heat molded plastic to keep this little beast in the cage and the belt loop is a joke.

Real damascus, hidden gem.
Surprisingly a hidden gem. Turned out to be a true damascus, with what is probably a true D2 core, giving you the best of both worlds. The grip is exceedingly comfortable for the grip stance this knife lends itself to, capable of a four finger hold as well as a 3 finger hold. The edge came sharp enough to shave off hairs albeit not as smoothly as a razor which is fine, a strip can make it smoother. Definitely more practical then a traditional karambit, as a defensive knife. Granted the length does make it difficult for day to day tasks such as box cutting and rope slicing but honestly I would be carrying a second folding knife for those tasks anyways. The sheath is a little difficult and belt retention is lacking but honestly I am just gonna remove the belt clip and use it as a. Neck knife anyways. The grip scales do indeed glow in the dark, if exposed to plenty if light though I am not sure if this knife will really see enough light often enough to actually be considered glow in the dark we shall see.
