My two daughters are 4 and three years old. They loved the book, which comes with a CD with the song or even only the melody so that the child can sing along!

My preschool children love this very American sounding song. You tend to find yourself waking up singing the song. My staff think it has hypnotized us all!! However a brilliant way to help them remember and learn about the basic shapes.

I have several of these Barefoot Books! My students love them. They are very affordable, especially since they come with a CD. Also, there are versions of ALL of these books free on YouTube. You can create a playlist and show it on a Smart Board, great for end of the day while dismissing students. If you don't have a Smart Board, (parents) you can view them on your phone or on iPad.

it teaches children the different shapes

I am an elementary music teacher. I teach all the regular K - 5th grade students and I have taught autistic children for the last six years. I am always on the lookout for materials that will interest kids who are profoundly autistic, often many are non-verbal. This book is one the best I've come across. It deals with concrete ideas, clear pictures and it's just a well written and nicely performed piece of music. I use some musically marginal material that works for these kids but this is music I enjoy myself and so do the support folks that work with these kids. I haven't gotten around to fitting it in with the rest of my curriculum but I'm sure Kindergarten would love it too!

All four of my grandkids ages 4, 2 1/2, 22 months and 15 months love this! Especially the 2 middle ones. They go through the book pointing at the shapes and singing the song. I found myself singing today after my granddaughter had left!
