I bought this to use fro backyard parties and to learn DMX. It works great and does what I want. Goes great with a fog machine as well. You can see all the laser lights. Very good for a beginner light system.

I haven't tried the DMX feature yet, but I am using it in a 900 sq ft garage and it really lights up the place. looks good and great patterns!

I have a few party lights and lasers for karaoke, but they're mostly part of a other devices like fog machines; I wanted something that I could mount up higher, and this small owl-themed light seemed packed with enough settings to play with - and of course a much-needed remote to make it easier to do so.The remote itself is a bit tricky to use, with lights separated in sections between lasers, LEDs, Disco lights, etc. The fan runs nonstop from when it's plugged in, even of all lights are off so the only way to actually power off is to unplug it. The lasers are seperated by red and green, with the green having a diffuser that multiplies the effect. Indo wish there was a cover over the red laser to protect from residue getting on the wheel and motor over time.The voice sensitivity, though adjustable, is hit and miss given the different modes. It's hard to tell if the sound is actually controlling it, or if it's changing at random. This may be different if running a wired connection instead, but I don't have a way to test currently. Given the price, I'd think this would be slightly more capable a unit, but it is still a fun little light to have going during parties in any case.

Kudos for making a compact DMX-controllable light show with independent laser, disco, wave, and strobe controls. Unfortunately, the one key feature they failed to provide was control over the laser pattern. The laser is either on its last pattern or cycling through them at the rate of the motor. Worse, the instructions specifically say not to allow the laser to land on the audience eyes, but the green laser is a full semi-sphere coverage. (Meanwhile the red laser on the unit I received was limited to a large-screen TV area, but was also sunken in the unit a bit.) I was really looking forward to DMX laser control, but the control was essentially intensity and cycling speed.

This unit get's the party started! This is fun and affordable. There are many different patterns and settings. The included remote works well and lets you change the functions and patterns when your mood changes.

Remember the days when you went to concerts and they would have cool laser shows? Well now you can have one at home. This thing is so cool. I have it at the band practice room and at this point, we have spent hours watching the different variations that this light will do and still haven't discovered all of them. Remember how you could get a cat mesmerized with a laser light, well this is us down in the band room. And yes it does have sound activation so whether we're playing or we're just listening to music, it changes with the beats and the sounds. We have multiple different lights in our room, but have taken them down because this is the complete package. We even moved tapestries around on the ceiling to allow more space for the light display. It does have a mounting bracket but for the moment we just have it sitting on the soundboard desk so it's aimed upward towards the ceiling. If you decide to hang it and aim it towards a wall, I would recommend that it be a blank wall so you can see the full effect of the different patterns and lights that this unit offers. We've used the remote to find out the different light settings and effects, but most of the time, we just turn it on and let it do it's thing. It comes in an aluminum casing so it does have some weight to it, but the bracket is definitely strong enough to hold it without problem should you decide to hang it up. It is electric so you'll need a outlet source, but in my opinion this is so much better than if it was battery based since you'll more than likely be using this for extended use. As you can tell by my long winded rambling that I'm a huge fan of this light as I am with all the Donner products that I've seen and use. I can definitely recommend this light without hesitation. I've been assembling a starter setup, and this is my favorite light.It is DMX compatible, so I was able to get it paired to my tablet quickly and easily using the information included with it. It is very bright. It throws patterns, works as a wall or ceiling washer, has a great selection of colors and patterns to choose from, to blend together, and it's really easy to operate. It can be set to respond to music/hand claps, or set on a pattern. It has more features than any of my other lights.I really like the feature of being able to change the colors by blending them one into the other, which isn't as jarring as just switching from one color to the other. You can switch from one to the other, but the color blend option is so smooth, so seamless, and it really elevates this light and makes it stand out from the other lights that I have.As someone just starting out, I'm really impressed with this light. I think that it would be great for anyone just starting out or who's been in the business for a while. I've had some fun playing with all the options and settings on it and I'm looking forward to using it at my next event.While it does put out a lot of light over a very large area compared to my other lights, I would like to pick up another to cover even more space. For the price, I think that this is an excellent light.

The lights work great and has nice features, other than one thing... well, it's possible that it is user error, but I can't figure out a way to turn off the laser feature without turning off the lights altogether. According to which direction I set this up in the room, I would like to be able to turn that feature off.The size is also very convenient.This is the way to have karaoke now!!!
