Pleasantly surprised!!!!! 1955 GMC 100 248 ci
I've been restoring a 1955 GMC 100, running a 248 ci inline 6. Since I've got her on the road, there's been hesitation at various times as well as misfiring (although have verified timing a dozen times). I couldn't get enough vacuum to engage the vacuum advance, even though compression looks great, valves have been tuned and intake manifold shows terrific numbers. But from the ported vacuum port on the carb I was getting trash.Ok so I've been through the gamit of troubleshooting, timing (a bunch) all plugs, wires, distributor cap, distributor rebuild and my original Holley 1904 had been rebuilt three times! I decided after spending over $150, on rebuild kits for my original carburetor, I'm just going to take a chance with this $85 no-name brand replacement. All I did was literally widen the throttle linkage hole for the size of the linkage arm coming from the accelerator and had to do NO other modifications. Bolted on and tuned idle and mixture...****BOOOOOM. Been driving around for a few days now and she runs great. Oh my!!!! Now I can move onto other items that need attention.Holy smokes! Vacuum advance running great (plenty of vacuum from ported vacuum), no more hesitation on acceleration, I don't have to run the carburetor rich anymore (which could damage other components), timing and dwell are exactly where they're supposed to beI never leave reviews because I purchase so much from Amazon, it'd become a full-time job but no one else had left a review for anything Chevy/GMC related and this carburetor says it's for a Ford platform. Wanted to help someone else out and no, nothing else prompted me to leave this review...I'm a real person and not employed/recruited by anyone to leave it. So freaking surprised and happy!!!

Worked great!
Product was delivered on time and worked well once installed. Installation was not difficult but some minor tweaking was necessary. The linkage side of the Carb has a boss sticking out which means that you need a thinner nut to clear the Boss for fastening. The linkage itself needed a 30 second reaming to open it up for the OEM linkage to fit from my 1961 Ford Econoline I6 144 engine. The truck started up right away and runs very well with this carburator. Highly recommended.

Good carb for the price
Great price. Had to do some adjustments to make it work right but overall for the price it was worth it. It seems to be made well and fit on the 1960 falcon I put it on. May consider buying others for different cars we own

Very impressed and happy
I found on a GB group a member who swore by these carbs so I thought I would give it a shot, bolted it on, started her up and my 1962 Comet with a 170 purred, ran great, took it out for a few miles and runs great, so far I like it a lot.

Fit 1961 Ford F250 3/4 Ton Truck
Replaced the original Holley 1904 with this. Turned the engine over to ensure that the fuel pressure filled the float bowl. I applied the choke a few minutes later, and it started right away. The preset mixture and idle were tuned correctly.Carburetor Linkage requires a Throttle Ball which is not included with the carburetor. For the inboard mounting nut, an angle wrench was necessary. Note: Different priced carbs can be seen with the yellow accelerator pump lever.

No gasket in package
Listing clearly states carburetor comes with gasket, don’t be fooled. It does not other than that. I don’t see anything wrong with the carburetor..

cheaper than rebuilding old carb
had to modify my throttle linkage a bit but truck runs like new
