We had multiple apartment buildings stolen from - they "fished" the checks out of the mail drop slot.This was the easiest, most economical way to make the drop slot secure. This product is extremely sturdy, easy to install, and the drop slot mechanism with "teeth" makes me confident it would be absolutely impossible to "fish" checks out of.Honestly, should have bought this a long time ago - I just didn't know it existed!

Purchased about a year ago, installed at one of my 11 Unit properties and was just as good as expected. Luckily I have a large secured metal door that would accommodate this Dropbox. Used a grinder and cut a rectangular hole in both sides then bolted it in. I only allow money order drops, no cash, and as such there hasn't been any issues. The baffled inside does a good job of preventing someone from fishing items back out while the slot is open. If you are using this for the same purpose, I highly recommend it. Probably large enough capacity for up to 14 units, but anything larger would probably need a larger style: Dropbox

works great for keys and other small things. the only thing that could make it better is if the mailman could drop letter size envelopes or a magizine through the box. small envelopes, bulky keys or small items are no problem. it is heavy-duty and I like the security of needing a key to open the box from the inside to trive the items from inside.

Well built, fairly easy install. You should know that the first one I received had a couple of defects:- Outer trim piece was about 1/2" from square- The defect in the outer trim piece made the inner diameter funky and slightly smaller than it should have been. This created a problem which held onto the sides of the portion of the box that inserts into it with a death grip which actually chipped the finish of the unit when pulling it back out. Installation requires that you put the box onto the door, mark the holes that will mount the box to the door, remove box, drill holes, replace box and fiddle with your combination wrench inside the box for the upper two holes.The process was do-able and the end result works pretty well. It is not even close to air/water tight as you can see plenty of light on both sides (top and bottom) of the slot from the inside. Some kind of weather stripping or waterproofing will help in severe weather environments,

Don't waste your money, Not worth it! The company does not send any instructions for installation, and when you ask they refuse to give you anything due to "liability" reasons. Really! Then when you get it installed, the mail does not fit in it so it is a complete waste of money. As a business owner, I am extremely disappointed in this as it has been a complete waste of time and money with absolutely no support from the company.

Installed with no issues. Mine came with trim for the inside of the door unlike another review. The lip on the interior and exterior trim leaves alot of room to get it perfectly lined up with minimal fuss. Very heavy duty metal. Not junk.

When I set out to find a "mail slot" for my door that dropped into a lock box, I was amazed that it was not a common item - to say the least. This is the only thin that I could find in the world that does what I needed -- so it's a darn good thing that it does it so well. I have ZERO complaints about this item. It does just what it is supposed to do, it is sturdy, easy to install, not too big... It's absolutely perfect for what I need.
