Pulse-Pounding Thriller
In Paul Herzog's pulse-pounding thriller, "The Fixer," readers are thrust into the gritty world of covert operations with the enigmatic protagonist, Lance Spector. Herzog delivers a high-octane narrative that combines relentless action with a tantalizing plot, keeping readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.Lance Spector, the titular fixer, emerges as a complex and compelling character. Equal parts strategist and action hero, Spector navigates a web of political intrigue and danger as he takes on a mission that goes beyond the conventional boundaries of justice. Herzog skillfully explores Spector's psyche, revealing layers of a character whose past is as enigmatic as his mission is perilous. The strength of "The Fixer" lies in Herzog's ability to create a vivid and immersive world. From clandestine meetings in dimly lit alleys to heart-stopping shootouts in sprawling urban landscapes, the novel unfolds with cinematic intensity. The author's attention to detail and flair for descriptive prose bring each setting to life, making readers feel as if they're right beside Spector in his quest for truth. The plot weaves a tapestry of suspense and conspiracy, as Spector tackles challenges that go beyond the superficiality of a standard thriller. Herzog explores themes of loyalty, morality, and the consequences of navigating a morally gray world. The supporting cast complements Spector's character, adding depth to the narrative and enhancing the overall reading experience. In "The Fixer," Paul Herzog has crafted a gripping tale that seamlessly blends adrenaline-pumping action with thoughtful exploration of character and motive. Fans of espionage and thriller genres will find themselves captivated by Herzog's storytelling prowess and eager for more of Lance Spector's unpredictable and thrilling adventures.

Lance Spector
Overall a great story. But, it took a good bit of reading to get a grasp of the plots. Once I understood the story I couldn’t put it down. The next book should fill in where this one left off. Good job.

What a suspenseful ending!!
I'm a Saul Herzog fan and have read and loved all 6 books in this series. This was not my favorite book in the series, however. The reason being is that there was very little inclusion of Lance Spector, Laurel and Tatyana. They are my favorites! Instead there is a new character, Craig Ritter, who I don't really care about and seems kind of lost to me in the book. Let's see if he returns in book 7. There are a lot of different characters in this book that started to confuse me. I hope all of this is cleared up in book 7. Overall, I was pleased with the book, pleased with the editing, and traumatized in the last few chapters holding my breath to see how it all ends. Saul, you outdid yourself. Looking forward to book 7. Great job!

There's No End
I've read all 6 books now and none of them have had an ending. The story is great, the characters are all fascinating, but I'd like the option of not reading the next one to again not find out how it ends. There could have been a conclusion that gave us readers the revenge we were waiting for and still lead into the next chapter. But Mr. Herzog didn't give me that. So I'm not going to go further with him in this series.

Hooked on this series
Great series. Would really make great movies. Lance Spector could be the next Jason Bourne. Let all hope some studio does it.

Great Concept
As with all the other books before this one, I was amazed at how the story came together & how the mood of the storyline kept changing causing the reader to question the next move to be made in this mystery, I assure anyone that buys this will see why the should follow "Lance, Laura, Roth & Company", in their journey to safeguard the USA, & their Allies quest to keep the world safe.

good !
Starts off at a slow and confusing pace but then builds to a fast pace after 100 pages once you understand what and why things are happening !Unfortunately, the three lead characters do not get to do much which is little disappointing !!

An abrupt end
Saul Herzog certainly know how to get your attention and wonder what is going to happen next - and then end the book so you have to buy the next one.

So-so
Way too much disgusting smoking by about almost all characters but one. A story that ends inappropriately early. An Afterward that was not edited to remove text alluding to events from an earlier book and telling readers that they can now pre-order book 4 of the series, while The Fixer is number 6... Also, as was the case in all previous books, there is nowhere we can find an actual Summary of the story, to find out for example if we wish to purchase the book. Alas, the space normally alloted to a Summary if filled with idiotic hype about taking the Hollywood movie rights industry by storm, etc. This is the end of the line for me. The next book (The Contract) is off my list. As well, the price of the paperback is way overboard what the book is actually worth. END.
