Wanted to try this for its health benefits. It is a really good tea, a bit strong and foreign apparently to us Americans and I concur. Once I opened the main bag holding the individual pouches, the odor was really foul/sour smelling. It literally stunk up my kitchen and I could taste it in the tea. After about 2 weeks the smell from the pouches died down and now it smells/tastes as everyone describes it as: earthy like dirt in a way. Aside from that, I put some sugar in it after steeping and its pretty good. I also purchased some from Republic of Tea in which theirs has a very soft vanilla aroma to compare. So health wise yes, it helps with stomach inflammation and it does what it's meant to do, but brand wise I'm not sure if I'll stick with this one in particular.

Love this brand. Delicious tea. Great quality you can trust. All 3 boxes came shrink wrapped and in good condition. Will definitely purchase again.

I really like the taste of this tea in the morning. Never leaves any funny taste in my mouth. I do wish it was cheaper, it's not. I'm doing it for my liver, hope it's helping! I drink it like coffee, (do I never drank coffee before). Add some milk and a little stevia and I love it.....wish I could do a few of these a day but since it's so expensive I only do it once a day.

I usually dont compare down to this degree for something like this, but since I had it both available, I did a direct side-by-side taste test (subjective) at home with another brand offered by Amazon, Traditional Medicinals Organic Roasted Dandelion Root Herbal Tea, 16-Count Wrapped Tea Bags (Pack of 6). As for the Alvita brand, my senses tell me...Smell: Good! Same nutty aroma that resembles roasted tahini, or peanut brittle.Color: Medium brown, with some reddish tone. Not as dark as Traditional Medicinals.Taste: Good, but not the best I've tasted. Initial flavor like some kind of nutty coffee drink is all there and good, just not as rich. There is also a very slight tang aftertaste.Differences aside, this is a great healthy tea that supposedly promotes healthy liver function. I started drinking this last time I got a caution that my liver enzymes were boderline high. I have yet to confirm that it helped, but the psychological benefits are helping a bit ;). It tastes good, and somewhat resembles hot coffee in the morning, only more healthier.On a comparitive note, the tea bags themselves are cheap. They do not have draw strings like most tea bags have, they are not individually sealed or wrapped, and they come grouped together in a non-resealing package. If this doesn't effect you that much, then I would recommend this buy because you get more tea bags for your money. Otherwise, I think you will get a better experience with Traditional Medicinals. As a final tip, with either brand, the more you steep the more flavor comes out.

I swtiched to this after my daughter did some research as an alternative to water pills. It contains potassium and other good things and is a great diuretic. I use sugar and lemon in it and usually drink it hot. My problem and it is strictly mine, is to get into a routine of drinking the recommended 18 ozs daily. I'm so contrary that I wake up wanting coffee. There is nothing stopping me from drinking it cold because it tastes good that way too, but I always want something else, usually soda and that is a bad thing. But I'll get there.

I typically purchase Alvita teas and this product is no exception. I've used Dandelion Root previously and I'm extremely happy. Whenever I over-indulge in sweets / sugary products, I always reach for this particular tea for a few days so as to "cleanse" my system.
