Plug and play...love it! I put in a music CD and it played perfectly on my laptop. Easy to store with built in cable pocket on bottom. I don't have any DVDs to test at the moment. I don't pldn on using it for burning but you never know.

Very inexpensive, and works well. I like that there is a mechanical release on the front of the unit that does not rely only on software for release of a CD or DVD.

Easy to use, affordable price. Disc drawer however feels like it could easily break. Use caution during opening, closing or applying a disc.

I’d like to say the CD drive works great! I had an old CD with family photos that was barely readable via externalized CD readers from old MacBooks (photos took forever to transfer, would randomly stop due to read issues, and would copy all corrupted), and this device read the disc just fine! I was also able to have two flash drive and an SD card readable at the same time. Lastly, the USB cable can also power the device, so no need to hook up the power connector and chew up an extra USB spot on the computer.Some nitpicks though: first, the cable is directly connected to the CD drive, so if that cable fails, the whole device is useless. Second, the SD card sticks out a bit further than I’m comfortable with, even though it’s on the back of the drive (see picture for reference). Lastly, it didn’t seem that I could connect a microSD and regular SD at the same time. Whatever card was inserted first would be read, and not the other. Still giving the product five stars as these issues are highly situational and not a big deal.

This unit does NOT burn music files (e.g. mp3, wav, ...) to DVD disc using Windows Media player with the option "music disc". It keeps switching to "data disc". I wanted to make a music disc so I can play it on a simple CD/DVD player. I know some unit can ONLY burn music files to CD-R discs. Not sure if this is a compatibility issue or limitation.

Great value, I used this drive to create disk images for backup of movie disks that I had created from birthdays and trips. It worked perfectly. You can’t beat the price

Truthfully, pulling this out of the box it looked cheaply made, it doesn't come with recommended burning app. I've down loaded 3 apps none that works. It does read and read fine, using VLC Player. All the burning apps says non compatible.This could be a hardware or driver issue, who knows. It is plug and play, windows 11 pro installed the driver for it. Not sure of issue. The cord on DVD/CD drive could be a foot longer. You can't beat the price if I can get the burner to connect so I can burn. Not noisy, and design, I would say great for portability size is excellent. Will update again on burner issues.

Not having access to a computer with a cd drive, I had many cd’s with pictures left by my late mom with no way to look at them. This was the answer to my problem. It works absolutely flawlessly!
