Pocket Rough Guide Madrid (Rough Guide to...)It was compact enough to take it with me around the city. It is not overpacked with information, but contains all the city's essentials plus some rare findings. You can find tips on where to stay, eat, go for shopping etc and find it on the enclosed map. There is a lot of useful information on when to visit museums with discount or for free so you can spend more on delicious food rather than entrance ticket. I found it very useful during my short stay (3 days).

Small in size, but packed with useful information.
My wife and I recently spent a week in Madrid and found this guide book easy to read and packed with useful up to date information.

Perhaps a little too short in format, but as someone who lived in Madrid for 4 years and who goes regularly, this was still ideal for a family holiday and we found some great recommendations, e.g. for the Museo de la History de Madrid.

Excellent guide
Excellent guide to every aspect of Madrid. Especially useful guides to restaurants/cafes - we were there only six days but ate well, especially in the evenings, by following their advice. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because of the flimsiness of the free map, which lasted only two days - fortunately, we had another one separately.

Perfect for mini breaks
I love the pocket rough guide series. They are perfect for mini breaks. We went for four days and the guide covered everything we needed. Lots of useful hints and tips, and all the recommended restaurants and bars were fabulous.

excellent book
We have always used the rough guides for any holiday destination and again this pocket size book is ideal. It comes with a separate map of the city centre.

Great for local tapas tips
We visited Madrid recently and this little guide was a really useful companion throughout the trip. We found a couple of great tapas bars thanks to recommendations in the book which we probably wouldn't have come across without it.
