Review: Interstellar is a breathtaking, emotional journey through space and time - Okay, let me put it this way—Interstellar isn’t just a movie, it’s a journey. I finally sat down to watch it on Blu-ray, and honestly, I’m still thinking about it days later. Christopher Nolan really outdid himself with this one. It’s got everything: mind-bending science, breathtaking visuals, and this deep, emotional core that hits you right in the feels. The story follows Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a former NASA pilot who’s trying to save humanity because Earth is basically falling apart. But here’s the kicker—he has to leave his family behind to do it. And that’s where it got me. The whole film is packed with these massive, space-exploring, time-bending moments, but at the heart of it, it’s about love, loss, and the choices we make. McConaughey absolutely crushes it in this role. You can feel his heartbreak and determination. Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain are just as incredible, bringing so much depth to their characters. Now, the visuals? Out of this world—literally. The black hole (they call it Gargantua) is one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen on screen. It’s the kind of stuff that makes you sit there, jaw on the floor, wondering how they even pulled it off. And Hans Zimmer’s score? It’s not just background music—it’s like the heartbeat of the film. It gives you goosebumps in all the right moments. Watching this on Blu-ray took it to another level. The picture quality is so crisp it feels like you’re right there in the middle of space, and the sound is insanely immersive. Plus, the bonus features are gold if you’re into seeing how they made all this magic happen. If you haven’t seen Interstellar yet, or even if you have but not in this quality, do yourself a favor—grab the Blu-ray. It’s not just a film you watch; it’s one you feel. I promise, you’ll be thinking about it long after the credits roll. Review: Absolutely Jaw Dropping! A Must See & A Future Classic - After skipping this one at the cinema based on some online reviews (big mistake) I bought this on Blu-Ray and watched it around four times the first week I had it!!!!! Fantastic, well made, well acted, well scripted, practical effects where possible, engaging and thought provoking story and themes, Interstellar will grow on people as the years go buy. Ok for all those people wondering if people only love this film because of Christopher Nolan............No lol. I am no great fan of Chris Nolan, I enjoyed Inception, the Batman stuff was ok, but only ok it hardly a masterpiece. The Dark Knight suffered from bad pacing and the end was cobbled together and rushed. Tried to fit too many things together and then cut the length. Dark Knight Rises was almost completely nonsensical. Interstellar on the other hand I honestly think will one day be held up alongside 2001: A Space Odyssey for it's deep themes, practical effects, and intellectual/heady content. Remember no-one liked 2001 when it came out either! My only complaint which is very nit-pickey was the love conquering all theme which I felt was shoe-horned in to appeal to a wider audience. It does work within the films context so it doesn't ruin it and I honestly think this film would never have been made without it so there we are. Also the beginning feels a little rushed, I would have loved this film to be an hour longer so that the beginning could have a been a bit slower and more believable. This is the fault of the current climate, they would never have gotten away with adding an hour to the length only freaks like me would sit through it! Another slight problem mentioned in the reviews is sound, yes Interstellar is quite hard to hear without being deafened when something big happens so you might have to spend some time getting volume adjusted before watching it all the way through. Or you'll have to keep a finger on the volume button! There seem to be a lot of people complaining about plot-holes and Science errors. Please ignore those people as they did not watch the film properly or are not up to date with current theoretical physics. Every, single, thing, that happens in the film is explained in the film, often multiple times for those too lazy to pay attention. The film can be completely understood in it's entirety watching it just once if you pay attention. Although you will get more from this film the more times you watch it. This is a movie, not a documentary, so you will be asked to suspend your disbelief for the duration but unlike other films which try to be this grand and fail miserably to deliver (looking at you Prometheus) this film succeeds in every way. Is this a perfect movie? Of course not there is no such thing but it's as close as you can get while still being a human. To get the most out of this film you will probably need to be interested in science, human nature, or sci-fi. If you like all three then "why have you not seen this yet?!" In conclusion, I wish it had been an hour longer, I was on the edge of my seat, jaw dropped as soon as Coop drove off in his truck all the way to the end. I simply could not believe a film of this nature COULD still be made and released today, most recent films consisting of "lots of stuff happens really fast, the end". I just hope it does really well because I would like to see more like it. Watch Interstellar, buy, buy, buy!

Beyond the wormhole
A near future science fiction epic movie from director Christopher Nolan. Which tries to consider some of the big questions about human existence. Life on Earth is getting pretty grim. As humanity has turned it's back on exploring beyond it's homeworld. And the human race is struggling to survive as crops fail and dust clouds get ever larger. Former Nasa pilot Cooper [Matthew McConaughey], his two children plus his father try to get by living on a farm. Cooper's daughter is a very smart girl. But this dying world doesn't offer her much opportunity. But when Cooper and his family find that some haven't given up on the dream of space, he becomes involved in an expedition that is the last chance for the human race. The laws of physics mean that he might never see his children again. What he does end up seeing is more than he could have ever expected... Interstellar takes itself seriously. It's not an action movie or a space adventure. It tries hard to do real science. Which those who like to nit pick might just manage to get their teeth into. It looks at the human reach to explore and see what's out there, and how some have that desire and others don't. It tries to show us fantastical interstellar sights, whilst at the same time being a solid family drama about the relationship between fathers and children. It should be an amazing and unforgettable odyssey. But it doesn't quite manage that, being a four rather than a five star film instead. Because it's one of those movies that could perhaps have done with one more draft of the script first. This is because it's blatantly obvious after not too much of it's running time how the film is going to end. Which does rob it of a certain amount of narrative drive. And leave the characters not driving the action quite as much as they perhaps should. Whilst the first half is quite involving nonetheless, it does slightly lose it's way in the second. With a slightly overlong sequence on another world. And then it goes into rather different realms, with a sequence that requires a great suspension of disbelief. And one key visual in this sequence really doesn't come off. The other problem is the score. Which is very good. With some strong music that's a little different to the usual. But it's so loud at some points, and as a result it drowns out the dialogue. The cast are all pretty good. Matthew McConaughey in particular. He has a very good chemistry with Anne Hathaway, who plays another expedition member. And some of the visuals really are quite stunning. Although the impact will of course be a little less on the small screen. It's a film that should soar. But it only really takes flight occasionally. Even so, it's one that is really worth judging for yourself. The dvd has the following language and subtitle options: Languages: English. Subtitles: English. Danish. Finnish. Icelandic. Norwegian. Swedish. The disc goes straight into the main menu once loaded up, without any trailers to get through first. Alas, it has no extras whatsoever.

For space buffs 👍
If u r a SIFI buff like me u will love this its a bit long but Anne Hathaway and Mathew McConaughey,Jessica Chasing, and u can't leave out Michael Caine u have a winner.Basicly the earth is dying ,to much carbon !!Sounds familiar. Anne Hathaway n Mathew McConaughey set off into space to seek out a habital world in another galaxy using a black hole as jump point.Mathew leaves behind a 10 Yr old daughter and a son on his crop farm .He gives his daughter a watch identical to his and he says maybe when I get back, u,meaning his daughter will b the same age as him.Little did he know??? Some 1 or something is looking after them and in a strange way the earth . Well they go through the black hole but they are only gon 4 a few yrs out in space but his daughter has grown up on earth and works with scientist Michael Caine, Michael Caine told the space crew that by the time they find a suitable planet he would of solved the equation of gravity its 2 do with the space and time But he lied !!!! He could never solve it.U have to watch it n u will understand. Anyway they find some astronauts that went 10 years earlier ie Matt Damen who goes off his head n trying to kill them all while he's trying to board the mother ship he damages it and kills himself but makes it near impossible for the remaining pilots to finish the mission.Mathew McConaughey saves Anne Hathaway by ejecting her with the mother ship on to an earth like planet with the means to begin again. MATHEW trys to go back through the black hole to fulfill his promise to his daughter to come home.Between him leaving Anne and going back through the hole a lot happens he's able to tell his daughter how to save the people on earth .He then finds himself waking up in hospital n get this he's a 124 yrs old!! He was 33 yrs old when he left he's about 35 yrs in himself but he's been gone 91 yrs his daughter comes to see him on the space station she's been kept alive in cryostasis waiting 4 him to come back. Its a tearfull reunion the film has agood story and some intrigue in it there r some twists n turns but well worth watching I've left the ending off u will have to watch it to find out 😄 👍

Masterpiece on 4K UHD
For me this film is a masterpiece. In my opinion Christopher Nolan has the midas touch. His drive to bring such a monumental sci-fi epic to the big screen is truly inspiring as is his desire to be as scientifically correct within the constraints of a money-making endeavour. His approach here, as with so many of his films, is to shy away as much as is possible, from CGI and revert back to models where needed or life size sets where he can. Casting has been spot on and although a minor gripe, Matthew McConaughey's low, breathy voice can be hard to make out at times. But he's at home here in the role of Cooper. Likewise Anne Hathaway et co. Including the young cast members all excel in their roles. Matt Damon brings an amazing quality to the hopeless and frayed Doctor Mann. For me Hans Zimmer's score, though, is the real star of the piece. The use of a church organ for some of the scenes was inspired and works so well to capture the immensity of the subject matter. Nolan's ambiguous Tesseract scene may have many scratching their heads but at the end of the day the director is leaving this for us the viewer to interpret as we see fit. Some more technically minded watchers will complain about the transition from 65mm(?) film to IMAX and back again but frankly I don't understand and at no point has it detracted from my experience of the film. As well as the 4K UHD disc, which is just a pure joy to watch, is a Blu-Ray disc of the film and a third disc (also Blu-ray) with the special features. This has only added to my appreciation for the film, the lengths to which the crew of Interstellar went to to create it. The disc is chock full of features with conception of the story with Jonathan and Christopher Nolan, creating the score with Hans Zimmer, loads and loads and LOADS of stuff regarding effects, filming and the science backing up the film. Also included is a piece on Interstellar space and mankind's place in the universe and our potential for reaching other worlds, narrated by McConaughey. Christopher Nolan is no stranger in these features and he and several cast and crew discuss the undertaking of producing and directing the film. One letdown (for me) has been the overall sound, although amazing in clarity and tone, which has been taken from the way it was played in theatres, meaning the music somewhat overwhelms while the actor's voices are more subdued. Fine if you live out in the middle of nowhere with no neighbours and want to experience it this way. But I found the volume on the remote control was getting a lot of use as I alternated between turning down the music and turning up the dialogue and back again.

1 star reviews are a lie! This film is incredible!
This film is incredible! Some keep saying that the dialogue is 'terrible' etc. because of Zimmer's soundtrack over the top. I watched this film for the first time last summer with 5.1 surround in blu-ray, and i couldn't find a single fault with it! I'm only 17, so maybe my ears aren't so warn out like the FOOLS who rate it 1 star. Right from the beginning you can see that this film has been expertly directed and with incredible craftsmanship, both on and off camera. I would say that something which is added to the visual pleasure of watching this film is how Nolan has used seriously wide range of camera formats to film with, not only with digital, but with 70mm film and IMAX! If you have read reviews telling you that the story is completely ridiculous or laughable etc. it's literally because they can't understand it! This film is for people who love the idea of space, real space, and what might be out beyond us (as stated in the title 'Interstellar'). Despite this the film is not a documentary. The acting by all actors is flawless, the directing is incredible - so much so that by the end i was sad there wasn't another shot to look at. The music in my opinion is the best original score ever created for a film! And the special effects! Well all you have to do is watch the trailer! The science in the film makes you wonder, and even though people are saying that the theme of 'love' in this film doesn't work well in a sci-fi film... Well actually it works perfectly well, considering we know as much about 'love' as we do about space! - love being something that we all come across everyday in all kinds of forms (something we can all relate to). SPOILER: A man has been forced from his home to save the world, away from his kids... only to find out that the whole mission wasn't to find a new planet for the human race, but to research planets (meaning he will die in space). I think that 'love' SHOULD be a main focus point in this film, because i know for certain, that if i was thrown into space - probably to never see my family again - i'd be feeling pretty sad about that............. I recommend buying a blu-ray edition with extra features! 3 hours could never be enough for someone who likes this film! The sound is epic, as well as the overall aesthetics of the film, the acting, special effects, the writing and story, the science... Just the entire picture is brilliant! If you are thinking to upgrading your hi-fi system, this is the time to do it! This film will blow you away when you hear the first note come out of your speakers! Do not take any notice of the 1 star reviews!!! This is seriously one of, if not, the best film ever made in the history of cinema!
