Beautiful Matt floor.
I love my newly oiled kitchen floor! This product is amazing and so easy to apply. I wanted a really Matt look and having read all the reviews on here I am so pleased I didn't use the other available brands as it is fantastic. Worth waiting the week for delivery. It does smell a bit. I've been away 2 days and got home to a lovely waft of the oil even though I ventilated the house well when applying. Who cares about the smell when the floor is so delicious to look at! It is only 3 days since application so I'm sure the smell will go but its not unpleasant.I have spilt water on the floor today and it just lay there without penetrating the floor. My kitchen floor (excluding the kitchen units) is 4.5 by 2meters. I was worried a small 0.75litre tin would run out half way through. I applied 2 coats and used 2 thirds of the tin so have enough for another application in the future - good value for money.I applied using the Osmo brush 50mm. Ok for the job but I'm sure other brushes that do not lose their bristles would be equally as effective.Delivery wise the tin came very well packaged and arrived within the specified delivery time.

OSMO are great products
The first image is my oak floor.Process of bleaching you can find - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01CK2AGBS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The other images are my oak kitchen worktops that were in an absolute state. Black old, dreadful. I have to sand them completely down. I like to fix and repair, but this was so bad I thought it would have to be replaced. I thought I can try and I am so happy I did.First I used a coat of CLEAR which gave the wood colour back - then a couple of very light coats of OSMO 3040 to get inside the grain and stop it from going orange and a couple of reasonably generous coats of OSMO clear.Stunning results. A year later it is still water repellant.I do wipe it down when I spill water on it, but I also dry things directly on it if I have to.One thing that does give a better finish is to make the area clean from dust and bits. Apply as evenly as possible. NEVER go over areas whilst it is drying. Use a none abrasive scrub pad to apply, use the same pad to remove ‘bits’ from each coat (or a fine grit sand very lightly not to scratch) and allow to dry over night between coats.Love love love OSMO.

Pretty good, but only apply thin coats!
Spent many weekends tirelessly laying my hardwood floor and applied this hardwax oil to cure overnight. It was a total disaster! Left a horrible patchy grey uneven finish. After lots of reading found I'd applied it on too thick. The instructions do say a "thin layer". My advice is to wipe down the surface afterwards! It really does mean a thin layer. After hours of scotchbright scrubbing and a little extra oil to try soften what was already applied and a lot of elbow grease it did turn out okay in the end. After being applied properly the finish is pretty tough. It did make the wood darker than I expected but shows the grain really well and looks great. Bit slippy in socks!Overall I'm very pleased, just wish I'd read the instructions better.
