While eating lunch at my desk, I like to watch streaming TV and decided to look for a phone holder on a stand. I came across the MAGIPEA Tablet Stand and Holder which is also able to hold phones, and decided to give it a try. It has satisfied that usage model and enabled some new ones.First impressions are quite favorable. The base is metal and weighty, which helps prevent the stand from tipping over while holding a tablet. I think the base strikes a good trade off between footprint and stability, but wouldn’t mind if it was a little bit bigger or heavier. The base plate is metal, as are the vertical post and both ends of the vertical post.The tablet/phone holder part is plastic, and the attachment to the neck of the stand is also plastic. Large angle adjustments can be made at the post and neck, and fine adjustments made where the holder attaches to the neck. I have some long-term durability concerns about the plastic because I have had such mounting mechanism break on phone holders in the car. Hopefully using the stand in an indoor environment will improve its durability.The post (vertical part below the flexible neck) height is adjustable between 9.25 inches to a maximum of 15.5 inches tall. I have been using the holder set to its minimum height, which is a good height for looking at a 9.7-inch iPad. It is also a good height for looking at a smartphone screen. At the minimum setting, the stand is usable for video conferencing, though I do wish I could lower the height slightly for that application. I have not found a situation where I would need to fully extent the post, but it is nice knowing the capability is available.I have not had the stand for very long yet, but have enjoyed it so far and recommend it.

This stand worked just like I wanted it to for my iPad. It’s easy to use. The iPad felt secure. I can have my iPad at head hight which is what I needed.

The clamp on the holder is not very strong. Irregularities on the back of the tablet such as a camera prevent fitting well. There should be a cut out in the holder to allow for that.

This worked out great for my sewing room. I can slide my iPad in the brackets and adjust it to my liking. Quality material.,

I wanted a stand to hold my phone at my desk or an iPad on my kitchen counter. My main concern was that it worked with an Android phone; my current phone has the power and volume buttons on the side, and most iPhone specific accessories seem to put the grips on the side. This works perfectly for me.There's quite a bit of grip on this when using my phone, but it was surprisingly easy to put the iPad into it. I like that it has the ability to extend upward, tilt in all directions, and has a weighted base. I haven't run into any issues with it.The one potential fix could be to make the grips deeper. I have to remove my phone from its case to get the grips to hold onto it. On the plus side, I enjoy using my phone a bit more without the case because of this stand.
