I'm really glad I added this to my pump
I started out first with just just the 12W pump. I am using it in a bird bath. The pump and solar panel work great- but only when fairly bright sunlight is directly hitting the panel. I guess that should be an obvious limitation of something that is solar, but I still found it a little surprising that it needed such strong light. I then decided to try this battery. My only expectation was that it would keep them pump going when clouds where passing over, or there were brief periods of shade. It did all that- and a lot more. The pump now stars running much earlier in the morning, before it is even getting much direct sun and then it just runs pretty steadily, even on cloudy days. In general- it's just made the pump a whole lot better. I cannot speak to its longevity, because I've only had it a few weeks, but it looks well made. Hopefully it will last. I'm very glad I bought it and would recommend to anyone with this pump.

This battery is definitely worth it!
This battery is a great addition to my hydroponic setup. We don't always have full sun, so the battery takes over for the solar panel on cloudy days.

not good if you rely on solar to recharge
UPDATE: from 2 to 4 stars. Even though I fully charged it by outlet, it only ran without direct sunlight the first night and then did nothing for the next 2. However, after the third day it started charging by sunlight alone. It now runs for several hours without the sun. I think it does what it's designed to do and the power is fine for my purposes. The missing star is because there is no available lighting element for it and the battery doesn't have any features to adjust. Plug and play but it just runs till it runs out. I have a cheap one with lights that conserves energy for dusk to set in before it restarts. I guess that's not the audience they are targeting. For your purposes it may work well. I bought a case for it since they say it shouldn't get wet. Would be nice if came with better protection since it's meant to be outside. All in all I'd consider it again if I'm looking for something just for consistent daytime flow. It does that well.Considering that it took half a day to charge in an outlet, there is no way the panel will be effective in recharging while also running the pump. The capacity of the battery is fine as it will run the pump for hours when fully charged. The issue is that the panel doesn't charge it at all so after the first night, you either plug it back in an outlet or have a dead battery. I won't get another eco-worthy pump since there is no way to run it without direct sunlight. The search continues for an affordable solar solution.

Battery back up fails to charge
I purchased the Eco-Worthy Solar Fountain Pump and Battery Back Up in May of this year 2023. The pump and solar panel work fine. However, the battery backup didn't charge from the moment I got it. Amazon did send me a replacement battery and I returned the first one. The second battery backup has now failed to charge in less than 2 months. By failing to charge, I mean you can leave it on the AC charge for days and the green light never comes on. Amazon says it is outside their 30-day return window and can do nothing and messages both phone and chat have not been returned by Eco-Worthy. In the meantime I noticed Eco-Worthy has raised the price on new ones. How Ironic. What ever you do don't buy the battery back up. What a big disappointment!

Battery doesn’t last long!!
It’s been a few months now , battery finally started not to charge with the panel , it was excellent before. For the price I would expect it to last longer

I'm so impressed with this
It's taken me a few weeks to get this battery put on my solar panel. I did it today, thinking I was going to get "a few hours" of fountain time out of it. That was 10 hours ago. I was just outside and it's midnight. The fountain is still running. I wasn't expecting it to still be going at sunset. I can't wait to find out if a morning of sunshine is going to recharge it enough to do this a 2nd night, or if it was because I filled the power in the house.
