Fraser: The Minnesota Marshalls, Book 1

Great start to a new series!
Fraser an ex Navy Seal recovering from a mission gone wrong and Pippa a personal security guard for Princess Imani who is trying to restore her family name. Fraser and Pippa have to work together to find the missing princess and Frasers younger brother who are on the run after witnessing a murder.Firstly I loved how this story picks up threads from both RJ & Yorks book series as well as the Sky King Ranch trilogy! I definitely felt there were some loose threads from those books so I’m excited to see these wrapped up.The fictional European Lauchtenland - think Genovia from The Princess diaries - was great!Loved Pippa - she was really competent and could hold her own. Pippa and Fraser had great chemistry from the outset and worked together so well it was easy to see their relationship build. This book had it all - exciting action, edge of your seat suspense, gorgeous vineyards, interesting European locations, faith, family reconnection and some great banter (looking at you Marvel nicknames!)I would really recommend this book as it has a great story however I think you might find there are a few too many side characters/subplots if you haven’t read any of Warrens other series (The Montana Marshall’s, RJ & York’s trilogy and Sky King Ranch)

You Are Mine
Fraser by Susan May Warren is a marvelous Christian suspense and the first book in a brand new series, The Minnesota Marshalls. As a fan of the author, it was wonderful to meet up with old faces in this new series. We see characters who are consumed by guilt over past events, worrying about what they cannot change. They are determined to do better and operate a policy of ‘not on my watch.’ They feel as if they have to be continually on duty. They have forgotten that when they know God, they are not alone. Life is a partnership with Him. It “is His way of showing you that you need Him more than you need a grand purpose.” God wants to be needed by us – not for His sake but for ours.Trust is a major theme. God wants us to let go of the tight grip that we have on life, and to trust Him. When we cannot see the way, we need to lean into Him.Prayer is important. We need to pray at all times and be sure to listen for the answers. “He couldn’t hear Him. Or maybe he was just out of practice listening.” As we pray more and listen more, we will learn to recognize God’s voice. Sometimes when we do not hear God, we fear God has forgotten us. “God hasn’t forgotten you.” God is always beside us.Our feelings are an unreliable gauge as to God’s presence. “My feelings, or fears, don’t change the fact of His love for me.” God loves us with an everlasting love. We are all sons and daughters of the King.We all need to have a firm foundation of faith. We need to know God’s word to us and to stand on it in times of trouble. “The greatest enemy of hope is forgetting God’s promises.” We have the hope of Heaven, not because of anything that we have done but because of what Jesus has done for us.If we are still breathing “God is not done with you yet.” God has a plan and a purpose for each and every one of us.Fraser is a fabulous start to a new series.I received a free copy. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

excellent!!
Another great read. Twists and turns. Like the characters. Makes me anticipate the next book in the series. As always, well done. Even wrote down some thought provoking quotes to ponder.

This new series is a must read!
This story has so many things going for it. A princess, a former SEAL, romance, action, danger, mystery and so much more. And in true Susan May Warren fashion, we get a glimpse at multiple storylines that though they work together, feel like they are separate (in a good way). This fast paced novel is a great start to a new series! Swoons heroes aside, it’s got tension, drama, and all the feels.I thought it was comical how Fraser was “stuck” at the winery, a place I just couldn’t see a character like him at. But ya know, sometimes we all need to be in that spot. A spot that is uncomfortable and gives us the time to think, dwell, and hopefully grow. But when he got that call from Creed - oh I was ready for the action! There was also some fun twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I thought I had the whodunnit all figured out and oh how wrong I was. I like to be wrong about that because it meant the author did a great job of putting the clues together in a sneaky way to make me think I was hot on the trail, even though I wasn’t lol.Somehow Warren always manages to have the perfect blend of action, suspense, romance, kisses, swoony moments, and faith. It always keeps me coming back for more! I highly recommend this new series.

breathtaking adventure
For the most part, I really enjoyed this book by Susan Warren. Full of intrigue, betrayal and heroism, the storyline kept me glued to the pages. However, I often had to go back over the way the story unfolds, as it includes 3 countries and several people whom I easily lost track of. Having said that, I admit I'm not as young as I used to be, and much of what I grappled with was because of my age. Warren has a unique writing style, one I've not encountered before, but it leads the reader into the thoughts and attitudes of the characters in an intimate and often humorous way, keeping the heavier parts of the story somewhat lighter. Some of the description included in the romance was a bit too intimate for me. Otherwise, it's a surprising, well-written tale. Still, I'm debating whether or not to keep reading in this series.
