Once the knife is open it is hard to close even after oiling.

These are unique lock back versions of the classic canoe pattern in gift tins, which should have made for great gifts for knife enthusiasts. There are several issues, none of which can be caught by the importer or sellers of the knives without destroying the packaging:-The knives are in packaging that does not allow for examination before purchase or resale by a retailer.-On 3/4 of the four knives I had intended to give as gifts, the handles were cracked on the side one cannot see in the tin while it is in the sealed clear plastic blister pack.-The spring tension on these knives is generally too strong, putting too much pressure on the spring pivot pin during assembly causing the high percentage of cracked handles.-The spring tension on 1/4 of the knives was so high it could not be closed without the use of smooth jawed channel locks.The one knife that did work was given as a gift in the tin after removal from the blister pack and examination. One can see why these were only imported in 2022.
