The quality of this hive is excellent! Well coated with wax inside and out. The screws and pilot holes worked perfectly and the nails went in perfectly. I only had 1 screw split the wood a bit, so I wood glued the split back together and the next day re-drilled the pilot hole and it was fine. It was easy to build by myself and with basic tools, hammer and a powered screwdriver. Everything is included and it's ready to be assembled as soon as you open the box. All the dovetails fit as they should and nothing was misaligned. Great quality and price for a hive!!

Putting this hive together was so fun and satisfying. The pieces slid together so nicely and everything fit together perfectly. My bees are doing great, they drew comb on the frames no problem and its a very nice, quality, affordable hive! Love it :)

easy to assemble, solid quality. Took a little over an hour due to assembling all of the frames but everything fit together exactly without issues.

I've thought about beekeeping for years. Have recently retired & thought it would make a good hobby. This is a great kit. It comes with everything you need except wood glue. That's probably just as well, since it is made in China, so there's no telling how long it's in transit or in storage...might as well go to the hardware store and get a fresh bottle. The dovetail joints are precise & tight, the wood is good quality, & it all comes together tight & square. The screw holes for the boxes are pre-drilled & countersunk. The assembly instructions are VERY rudimentary, but if you're reasonably handy with tools & projects you should be able to figure them out. I had the boxes assembled in a couple of hours. Assembling the frames took longer than anything. Not wanting to sound like a smartaleck or a know-it-all...if you can't figure out how to assemble it, maybe you don't need to be handling live bees. I'm very happy with it, can't wait to get some bees.

So, what did I like, and what didn't I like?I will usually shy away from product like this that was made in China. I have gotten hive bodies from US mfgs. and had to sand and fit all the parts to get them usable. This is for a neighbor just getting into beekeeping, so for the price I ordered this set for him. This is a first for me, every dovetail fit perfectly, as did all the frames. No fitting, no sanding. Minutes to assemble, not hours. Five stars is not enough.

This is my 3rd MayBee Beehive box. Instructions provided are easy to understand. Took me about 2 hrs to build. I’ve purchased boxes from other companies and MayBee boxes have been my favorite.
