It reduces your steps and frees your hands.
It's easy to use. It's all plastic but seems strong enough. It's pretty accurate as you can see from the pictures. The extension and retraction mechanism is a little bit sticky, but it will probably wear in. The pencil and blade are lined so that you can make a mark with the pencil then cut with the blade. Realizing of course that you would almost never need to make the cut then cut with this tool. You would just cut at length mostly. Still, they work well together. Over all it's a decent tool for the job. Longevity is still to be discovered.

Time Saver
This device has been used to the point that the tape wore down, and had to buy a new one. Very useful & my goto tool! Great Product!!!!!!

Not sure who this can help. The pencil is good.
While this seems genius it combines all of the frustrations of cheap/worn out tools into one, worst of all worlds. The 25 cent pencil is goodThe rest…Tape bends easily over distances of more than 2 or 3 feet when working vertically. Perhaps if you have the space to lay out drywall flat it wouldn’t be such a problem.Knife is flimsy and bends as other reviewers have pointed out. How many times do you want to score the material if you press lightly enough for this not to happen?Pencil doesn’t leave accurate marks when put through the hole and used with the tapeNot sure if this tool just outsmarted me and I’m using it wrong but my $12 t-square, $15 heavy duty tape, and $5 heavy duty drywall knife combined cost less and are time savers over this.

Drywall ax
In theory, this tool is awesome. As a one man contractor operation, this is awesome for saving time. However, the button to retract and lock the tape measure is very difficult to press. I may have received a bit of a dud but I’m just putting it out there.

Not worth the purchase
Not a fan. Using for drywall and it is not stable enough to cut a continuous “straight” line. Comfortable in the hand. And a great idea, but it doesn’t perform for me. Just use. T-square and a utility knife.

Bought for my son as gift.
Bought for my son as gift. He just bought a house that need some drywall finishing in the basement. Made his job a bit easier. A great addition to the non professional's tool bag.

Great idea, poor execution!
Was excited to use this knife but encountered a couple of issues. First it’s bulky and doesn’t fit In my tool belt easily. Also, when cutting a large sheet of drywall you have to hold the end of the ape and the knife. For instance, I had a 56” piece I needed to cut and had to have an assistant hold the tape end while I cut. Then the blade would not stay locked in. I did a plunge cut and when I pulled the knife out the blade stayed in the drywall. The biggest problem though is it’s too easy not to make a 90degree cut. Not sure I wouldbuy this again.
