Ideal Spa-La-La Perfumery Kit

This was great fun to do with my 8 year old daughter. She loved loved loved making her own fragrance and had so much fun experimenting. It is a great little science experiment and taught her more about ratio and how to mix scents. I would have given it 5 starts but there was not much variety in the fragrance you could end up with. We found in the long run it really ended up smelling like Jasmine or Lily of the Valley as those scents basically masked any other additions (even a drop).Apple, Jasmine, Heliotrope, Lily of the Valley, and Peppermint1) Peppermint? Really? Who wants to smell like peppermint?2) Apple - Weak, didn't have much of a smell to begin with and was quickly masked by Jasimine or Lily.3) Jasmine - Too Strong, one drop made this the "feature" scent in whatever she was making.4) Heliotrope - No smell at all, just a good "filler" I guess.5) Lily of the Valley - Too Strong, one drop made this the "feature" scent in whatever she was making.She ended up with two fragraces she really liked. Basically Jamine and Lily of the Valley though. She enjoyed making them and was thrilled to be the "inventor" of her own scents. We ended up spending some good quality time together and it was educational so for the price (under $20) it was a good investment.

I read the reviews on this prior to my purchase and I am glad I did. The previous review said that I should order spray bottles because there are only 2 rollers and the remaining containers aren't feasible for daily perfume use. I deducted one star because I had to purchase additional bottles.The scents were great and last a long time (I can still smell the scent towards the end of the day). My 11 year old and her party friends loved this. It was fun to create.

Cute set. My 5 year old loved making mommy a perfume. Followed the instruction to make a few perfumes and then let him choose additional scents to make it unique. Easy to use, good instructions. Only knock is that most of the oils smell very similar. Peppermint is distinct, but heliotrope, Lilly of the valley and jasmine are very similar.

My 10 year old and her cousin were able to play with this for one day only. There are only enough tubes to make a few different perfumes and then they had to dump out the vials they had made to make different ones. They thoroughly enjoyed making the perfumes, just wish it had more vials.

Loved the thought behind it - making your own scents - what fun!! The scents weren't the best smelling ( to my daughters liking). She did enjoy it though - mixing and creating.

I got something like this when I was little. Couldn't wait to give it to my granddaughter. The scents aren't what I hoped, but she has played with it.

Well worth it. The directions are easy to follow.

It worked as expected. Some of the scents could be a little overwhelming but overal the kit was cute, and easy for a 12 year old girl to do on her own.
