He also has great sense of humor which makes his book fun and easy to read. All Internal Auditors, experienced or new would benefit from this book. It does not only cover the entire logical flow associated with an internal audit, but also provides very practical insights and recommendations of every single step of an internal audit from planning to writing an audit report. With his keen perceptions, Craig has demonstrated in this book that the true purpose of an audit is partnership for improvement instead of uncovering bombshells or getting somebody in trouble. I strongly agree with him on this principal. You will see how he walks you through in this book the processes of internal audits in a candid, genuine and straightforward way, just like coaching a friend.

Another excellent quality book by Craig Cochran! I have been reading Craig's books and quality articles for the past 16 years. Craig's easy to understand writing style and his innate ability to explain to a layman complex quality topics and ISO requirements is second to none! I owe my career in the quality field to the knowledge I have obtained from Craig's articles and published books. Craig's new book "Internal Auditing in Plain English" will be our company's training guide and reference in our planned May 2018 transition from our current AS9100 C - ISO 9001-2008 Standard to the AS9100D - ISO 9001-2015 standards. We found this book to have a wealth of well written quality auditing principles, step by step audit exercises and direction on establishing a solid audit program and supported by a robust context built upon real auditing cases. This book illustrated the dynamic ideas of ISO using down to earth language and simple examples. This really helped me to take a simplistic approach when preparing my organization for ISO auditing. As we continue to evaluate and improve our processes with such a simple understanding of the auditor conversation. The audit now comes and goes very easily for us, where in the past they always seemed to be such a daunting event. The audit attitude is more positive and we now welcome new constructive ideas from the process. I highly recommend this book to any level throughout your organization.

I really enjoyed this book. It really helped me during my new transition to internal audit. I even recommended this book to my mentor. It is worth the buy.

In the past, I have purchased several Craig Cochran’s books because he is able to transform the mystification surrounding ISO 9001 into practical, how-to-do-it terms for me. With this latest book regarding internal auditing, I was NOT disappointed. I have been struggling with how to keep the improvement momentum going after an audit is conducted; the internal auditing program just seems to run out of gas during the follow-up phase. Cochran’s Verifying Effectiveness checklist will enable me to streamline this phase and guide process owners towards valuable systemic improvement, rather than simple change masquerading as improvement. My only wish is that a 5th scenario was included in the practice portion that demonstrated compliance. The 4 scenarios presented in the book allow you to practice finding and writing nonconformity statements. However, from audit training, I find that newer auditors have problems determining compliance. This is only a small wish for an otherwise excellent internal auditing resource.

So I've been in Internal Audit for 9 months. Long hard rocky 9 months. Every book I've bought up to this point just didn't seem to capture what it was I needed to know....until now. This book right here is everything. When I say Craig has laid this book out in plain English.....you know what he did. It's opened my eyes to so many things I didn't understand and confirmed things I suspected to be true but just wasn't sure. I feel like this book has given me hope again and I'm definitely maturing my wings to soar in the Internal Auditing realm. My book is filled with yellow highlighting. However there isn't much that's NOT important in this book so it's very yellow. Thank you again for writing this. I finally feel like it's all coming together!

Not what I thought it would be

It’s not a big deal.

Excellent book, but somewhat repetitive in parts and better proof reading needed. Recommended.

Gave me a good insight into auditing, and actually how interesting auditing could potentially be.

Not bad, sound advice but it is only looking at it from the perspective of a company employee and not from a consultant perspective. But all in all some very good advice.

Thanks to the author of this book for explaining for internal audit process in plain English. The book is organize well and is very concise.

This is a good insight into auditing and in layman's language, I bought to refresh my memory as job hunting for a QA audit job.
