The shoulder straps are padded. There is a chest strap also to help balance the backpack when your pet moves around. Then there is a waist strap also. All straps are adjustable and comfortable. The chest strap is ok but if you have asthma I wouldn't recommend you using it. The backpack itself has 4 zippers. 1 on each side then there is lower zipper and a top zipper (this is where you see our boy Teddy in the pic). This allows your pet to look around when sitting. If the top zipper is closed it is screened but not solid. There is also a lead inside of the backpack to anchor your pet in the backpack. You can also lock the zippers so there is no concern about your pet sliding out. This is a really well made, well designed pet backpack. Our dog Teddy is about 27pds and has plenty of room in the backpack to either sit up or lay down. Teddy is a beagle, Shitsu, dashound mix and is 11yrs old. While he is losing his sight and smell he is still very active. He doesn't do well with long walks anymore but we try to keep him engaged in life and getting around. Our theory is that he likes the backpack because it allows him to be taller than every other dog in the area 😂. This is an exceptional pet backpack and well worth getting.

It is lightweight, comfortable, and seems to be holding up OK. I bought it since our Bubble space bag appears to be too hot for summer. I thought this would be breezier for summer. I love all the pockets; there is a place for a water bottle, poop bags, and his leash. It has nice clips to hold the zippers closed; the tether is a little odd. I only use it when the bag is open for his head to stick out. He makes a choking sound when I use it; I don't think he can move and get comfortable. I wish it was a little taller, but it is the perfect width.

Really good quality bag! My cat doesn't despise it because she can stick her head out the window. It has a lock for her leash and keeps her secure. I flew with her from Florida to Colorado and this bag fit under the seat in the middle seat on southwest. It was scary for her so I recommend taking your cat to the vet to get some calming medicines before you fly.

Perfect and fits two cats

The bag is sturdy and roomy for a couple of puppies or 2 medium sized dog's and it is comfortable for one big dog not for a Beethoven 🤪 breed. The bag would be perfect if it had its own built in 2 big wheels and a pop up handle to pull its weighted cargo. Can't stand bags with small tiny wheels that breaks off easily total nonsense. Altho the bag is not a wheeled carrier I'll have to purchase a wheeled hauler separately. The zipper so far seems sturdy and the functionality of the access compartments is pretty cool for my two shihtzu pooches. I like to sneak them into stores so a bag flap would have been nice too but all in all its a good sturdy bag for the price.

Very good product. My husband and I carry the cats and our small dog in them during long hikes. We have 2 of these, and they work well as a car carriers too. Pockets on the side to put some wipes or collapsible bowls, and there's a place for poop bags too. Great quality, very Sturdy and strong. It'll sit very rigid and keeps the whole structure solid even when fast walking strides. Lumbar cushion is a life saver!!!!! This is a make or break feature- trust!! Easy to use bc of adjustable straps.

Lots of clever details. Folds flat. Very sturdy. Screened openings on 3 sides provides pet panoramic views from inside the backpack. I wrongly guessed size XL was necessary for Maine Coon; it was more space for pet and plane travel than needed. I returned it and ordered a size L in the same item. Note: the frame is heavy-duty stiff, which is a plus for pet comfort, but the XL item won't conflate to smaller dimensions for storage under plane seat. Will fi in overhead plane compartment, though, depending on pet's tolerance for enclosed spaces (ours isn't having it). Highly recommended.

Not for petite women!!! I have a ten pound cat that loves to go for walks and I got this so I could have him in front of me. I look ridiculous in it. It works well in the car and as an overall carrier but that’s not the point.
