Haysoms Hexagonal Flush Ceiling Porch Light with Frosted Glass Diffuser, Metal, Gold

I purchased two of these to go into our new porch but due to a design malfunction we could only have one fitted there and the other has gone into newly built hall cupboard. My partner fitted them and there was no screams of frustration, no naughty swear words, so I took it that he was trauma free getting them onto the ceilings............We both agree that they are very smart lights and look like they should have cost more than I paid for them.I would therefore recommend them for nice styling at a good price.

We have one of these already; the electrician found it a little fiddly but it looks very nice and gives a decent light. We therefore decided to buy a second one to match.

Definitely worth the money. Looks good in our porch and gives off a good light. Would recommend.

The light itself seems OK, the initial screws provided didn't work as the thread was damaged on one side. Used some larger screws to directly screw into the wooden roof. For £20 or something its not too bad I guess... Just wish it wasn't faulty. Possibly a 2nd hand one sent out?

As soon as I saw the picture of this item I knew it's what I wanted for our porch, just so elegant and much more than your average boring light! Whilst I'm reasonably happy with the final product there are some significant caveats.Out of the box it's a pleasingly heavy unit with nice frosted glass. There is perhaps a tiny bit more gold on ours than in the picture but totally fine.The first issue came when hanging it on the ceiling - there is a base unit which screws into the ceiling onto which the bulb is attached and then you have the glass grill element that screws into base unit with two screws. The problem is that the thread on the base unit is insufficient for the screws to get a decent grip and hence, even if you're able to get it all to stay together on the ceiling, there would be the threat of the heavy glass bottom unit dropping off if knocked, for example. You would not want this base unit landing on your head! I was thinking we'd have to return the light entirely however we dodged the problem by using long screws that went through both units and then into the ceiling itself to ensure that neither will come off.The second problem is that the light from the unit itself is uneven. The bulb lays sideways within it and hence the light is noticeably brighter on one side than the other - not an issue for us as it happens to illuminate primarily in the direction of our front door, but from an aesthetic point of view it does not light evenly, when one might have thought the diffuse glass would spread the light around more. This MAY be alleviated with a less bright bulb (we're using 9w), however I'm not sure.Overall then we're reasonably pleased for the money and even when the light is off it is pleasant to look at, but a couple of important caveats to consider when buying.

NIce design and quite heavy - a good solid item for outdoor use that looks great

very nice product-looks good. you just have to check bulb is facing correct way or you have to get it out and turn around..
